I was very frustrated that we couldn’t get a deal done, but I feel better now knowing that Brooklyn was demanding Reaves and Christie in addition to the 2 FRPs and pick swaps.

That would have been insane, and does seem to align with Brooklyn not really negotiating with us in good faith and preferring to trade Kyrie elsewhere just to spite us.

Yeah, that's way too much for Kyrie.

They certainly had no interest in sending him here, BUT I think that had more to do with F Kyrie and what he wants than F the Lakers.

I doubt it was to spite us rather the Nets owner wanted to spite Kyrie

I really really hope this is the end of Kyrie and the Lakers talk.

He’d have to take a pay cut to sign with us which won’t happen

Where do we turn now? LaVine? Bulls haven't shown they're ready to blow it up. Raptors? Suns? Is CP3 pissed they tried to move him for Kyrie? Those are really the only possible destinations for a disgruntled star unless something new pops up between now and Thursday

    2 things can be true.

The Nets were asking for too much.
    Rob sucks at his job.

It's only the rest of the season and the playoffs. Kyrie might be on our radar again in the summer. He said one of the reasons he left Boston was that he got traded there, and he wanted to pick his own destination moving forward.

even if Lavine puts in a trade request, I am also not convinced we'd have the best offer for him.

Russ's trade just nuked the franchise.

I’d start with the Raptors and Hornets.
