i don't want to think about it. lebron scores 42, surpasses kareem; okc pulls away in 4th, wins 142-128.
I can only dream that if that happens and as Bron goes to Kareem for a hug, Kareem slaps him as hard as he can (without hurting himself)... and says "You are not worthy". --- Somewhere in the corner Big Game nodes in approval.
It's wild how much differently (negatively) I feel about the Kyrie trade after that loss to NOLA. Winning really does cure all
Waiting for the interview where a star says “flip the switch” I can’t bother watching until after the switch has been flipped. 13th place SMH
we don't know that russ and 2 picks was going to get it done. nobody has said that yet. and irving's impending free agency is a concern even if it was. i still think there are trades to be had. the same ones we were talking about before kyrie's demands and probably some others we don't know about. rob is going to be under a lot of pressure now, as i'm sure lebron's in full pout mode.
The NO game really deflated me: I don't trust Ham at all anymore even if the roster improves. Getting Reaves back soon who really was the Lakers third best player and getting AD/Lebron being back healthy and the team looking good to great was so promising but now I'm sad lol
i feel like i've felt similarly bad after two other games this year (first indy game and maybe that portland game?). just sort of...omg this is bad. in other cases we managed to pull a couple unexpected wins that made me feel better. but we just have so little margin for error now. the season is 2/3 gone and we're treading water in 13th place.
The sad thing is that the Russ trade turned us into this almost single-handedly. Even during Dennis-Gasol season, the guys were actually able to play .500 ball for a while without Bron and AD. Dudes who played in March '21, for example: Look at that. They'd win one, lose one etc., 50% ball, and they knew how to balance it well and play with each other. This is what Kuz, Pope, Caruso and Vogel "died" for. RIP. (This was a W against TOR by the way, but most other games looked like this. Scrappy basketball.)
Now I know the roster isn't perfect and Ham does leave a lot to be desired, but at some point is AD and Bron's numbers just empty stats on bad teams considering our record? I could just be too down on the team right now too.
Modern metrics take into account tracking data and plus-minus. LeBron and AD are firmly in the top 15 in all major impact metrics. Don't let the overwhelming evidence get in the way of your narrative pushing though, and I know you won't. Simple Sunday
Stick a fork in them. They’re done we have far too many games like this year. You’re welcome to go the Morey route and count the advanced stats and e-wins your screen name is fitting
Because of the implications of the Russ trade? Yeah that's a good bet. ...but not cause they're a couple of Bradley Beals Edit: Great players have bad games. Let me know what else you need help with
Still waiting for this team to collectively give a crap on the defensive end. It’s going to be too late pretty soon now.
