I do think Westbrook for Kyrie solves a lot of the team’s problems and significantly raises the ceiling… but this trade demand is still so hilariously chaotic and on brand for Kyrie.

If I had to bet on how this plays out, Brooklyn doesn’t flinch at the demand, Kyrie plays out the season (he has to if his attempted leverage is getting a nice free agent offer elsewhere), Brooklyn remains a solid team in the East this season, and then they either force Kyrie to accept a team-friendly deal in the summer or pull of a sign/trade that works out well for them.

I could also see Russ/Walker/protected FRP for Kyrie/Harris. Harris hasn't been great this year, so maybe taking on his contract and sending Lonnie saves us some draft capital. I like Curry but we'll still have too many small guards that can't/shouldn't play together.

I think the big difference between now and when this was discussed in the summer is there will be more teams in play IMO. I think Dallas is desperate. I think Miami is something slightly less than desperate. I don't think we're the only ones that would sign him to a big contract anymore.

They may, but their leverage is so bad. Clock is ticking big time. If they tell teams they want two 1st, and Kyrie gets wind that Dallas or whoever wants to make that offer, he can blow that up immediately by telling his agent he won't resign there either. Two 1sts for a rental may not be worth it. I think he wants LA and everyone knows it.

It's cause they don't want to pay him what he wants. He knows other teams with his bird rights would.

Well I mean it’s really not THAT crazy.

He recently said he wants to stay in Brooklyn long term and that the ball was in Brooklyn’s court.

I’m guessing they told him no to the framework of an extension he was seeking, so now he wants out.

agreed n can understand nets not wanting to make long term commitment on him. Im sure if Rob does trade for Irvine it would be with intention of maxing him out for the 4yrs

Brooklyn is 4th in the East, and he wants out. Absolute no thanks, hell no, keep him away, would be IMO one of the worst moves we could make and could set the franchise back years.

Are we sure it’s “teams” (plural)?

Feel like we might be one of the only teams so desperate for star power that we’d give him a long term deal

Get him here and get him here NOW.

This is the PERFECT scenario that Rob and team have been looking for.

OK Rob, it's go time. You were patient. You told us all to be patient. The team is within striking distance of the fupcking 4th seed if they want it...and the west is absolute s*** this year. You already got Rui...now go get Kyrie and Seth or Kyrie and Oneal or Kyrie and Harris...send Russ PACKING literally pack his f***ing bags and send those god damn picks out too.

THIS IS THE TIME TO PULL THE MFING TRIGGER!!!!

Kyrie/LeBron/AD I believe WINS the west if they can get to at least the 6th seed.

Please baby jesus LORD LET THIS HAPPEN!!!!!

I do not want him and do not want to deal. Every day I have to reiterate this, I don't want to go the 3rd star route and I don't want a team full of mins.

Kyrie is difficult and crazy. Lakers and Bron will push this to the front of the list in the next 6 days.

If we go this path (don't!), Rob better get Seth and might as well get Kief from them too (emergency big). I would want a LW4 for Royce swap in there because Royce is a better fit as a SF and Lonnie is redundant in the backcourt, especially if you're looking for minutes for Curry.

Kyrie, Seth, O’Neale and Kief for Russ, LW4, Jones, and whatever picks Rob is going to give up.

I think Dallas is desperate, they need a co-star for Luka and have very limited means of obtaining one. There are already "reports" that Luka wants them to make upgrades to the roster. I think Dallas will be interested, although I think its a potentially awful personality fit.
