Wow, it's cool to see a Japanese player on the Lakers! I'm looking forward to more media coverage locally. Now let's go get Yuta too

With as much as we like to get out and run paired with Russ and Bron's QB abilities from the length of the floor, Rui should get a lot of easy buckets.

Uh Oh …. first in with the disdain and disgust of “oh great another injury prone player” the first twisted ankle.

All the same mid range stuff that DeRozan could pretty much only give us here for god knows how much MORE it would have cost us and wrecked us again with the Russ monetary effect roster wise.

I'm not in favor of DeRozan but Rui is nowhere near the playmaker DeRozan is.

Or nearly as consistent a scorer as DeRozan. But there is no way we would get DeRozan for three 2nd round picks + a Bone Bruise.

Sure but not a position of real need on this roster and of course DD is much smaller and nowhere near the larger wing defender Rui potentially is.

I don’t think we need to comp Rui with DeRozan. They are very different players in completely different places in their respective careers. I’m very glad we got Hachimura at this time. Great pickup.

For the record I would have preferred DeRozan to Westbrook but I saw and still see no real way we could have gotten him despite what he keeps saying.

Would like to see some lowlights instead of highlights lol. It would help to know what we can expect of the guy - looks like he's not a great rebounder or passer. Hopefully just being way taller than our other guys getting SF will help with rebounding and I'd probably stay away from him trying to create around that mid range shot. Best for him to be a finisher and use the mid range against a hard closeout.

I like the Morris comp a lot: if he can be a dude you can just trust on offense and defense not to try to do much but hit the shots that are there and defend it will be a good pickup.

Keith Smith was saying in that video I posted yesterday that this is just his cap hold, 18 mil, when we make him a restricted free agent. He said once we sign him that drops to whatever we pay him, in his opinion it was like around 10 mil per. So that brings our cap space back up to over 20 mil, which is enough for 2 MLE level guys. So it’s not technically 13 mil unless we crazy overpay to re-sign him.

I wonder why people try to see the worst in situations all the time.
