I guess I'll take the hit and be called a Rob " Stan" here. He did a great job with Wenyen, Thomas,Lonnie, Max, and Troy. Throw in Reaves and we are getting incredible value from these contracts. On the surface, it's not ideal to have this many rotation players on minimum contracts, but they are all outperforming those contracts IMO.

It's a broken record at this point, but it's not Rob's fault AD is out again.

Now the Bev trade? Can't win em all. Still with a healthy AD..folks should be loving this group, they play hard eveynight regardless of who is out.

the scouting dept should get all the creds fir the pics.....Ill give rob cred for finding value signing but hes done 1yr deals since he started his tenure post Magic, you dont have cohesive unit when more than half the team changes every season, could also contribute to the slow start for the last few seasons

And AGAIN ..... that was not the case the year after the ring. Numerous guys came back and some good ones were added. Russ trade has made happen these past two off seasons with that because of the massive salary.

It's still not a slam dunk. They weren't happy with Kcp,Kuz and Trez and tried to trade them all that season . Plus we were still over the cap and Dennis was unsigned. I still believe that we just chose Talen over Alex too. Just bring everyone back sounds good, but Lebron and AD played in even less games together last season .

Not wanting to go round and round with you on our role players "expendability" again. Was just stating correctly that we weren't rolling over the whole roster that year to Khmrp and it was the Russ trade that necessitated the worst aspects of that this past 2 years.

Bob Myers might be available this summer

I don't like the current two timeline thing they're trying over there, but outside of that he's viewed as one of the top end execs in the league.

    Do it Jeanie!

I think this team is the best squad we've had since the bubble squad tho. I get the continuity thing..we actually had more with this group over the previous team.

We had just traded 3 guys off for AD and waited out the Snake decision and don't have the deep pockets to have a whole roster over vet minimum. Does anybody even?

i'd agree...BUT can bob deal with our budget? people really ignore this, imo. would we have taken on russell as a (very expensive) placeholder when durant bolted? i think not. are you a genius if you can't do that? i think not.

Myers would be great and I was hoping we would swoop and steal a guy like him instead of Magic and Rob.

Still, we’d really have to give him the keys to the franchise and let him run things. No calling up Phil, Magic etc for opinions or letting the Rambis poke their nose in on things. That concerns more than even us being cheap.

to be fair to Rob, hasn't literally every leBron team been full of mostly 1 yr mercenaries in the last 10 years? It's kind of his MO. Ship out youngsters and draft picks, leave, and leave the team bereft of talent or assets and in salary cap hell. Looks to me like we aren't willing to do that to the same degree, so props to Rob on that, but it's all pretty horrible and I lay that at leBron's feet.

    And he's my favorite player.

right. it's all this. we're run terribly, and it starts above rob and anyone hired in his place would be dealing with the same stuff is my point.

conversely, lots of folks could succeed in gs's environment, imo. not only up the chain, but down it, as you don't have steph curry forcing your team to make terrible trades.

Good points. I'm old so I don't remember everything but Kuz was getting lit up by the fan base for being soft and inconsistent. I was mad at Kcp half the time as he was hot and cold, a lot of cold and Trez just didn't fit well. We did choose Talen over Alex which obviously was a bad call. I'm not giving up on Rob. I think he is navigating a curvy mountain road pretty well. Sirron has brought up numerous good points I won't rehash. I still think with one trade and AD back healthy we are the best team. Without the trade we are on equal footing, there is just no intimidating team right now. Pretty exciting to see we are creeping in the shadows ready to make our move.

Sounds like one of those picks we got from the Wizards for the Russ trade and one is actually a swap. For a guy that was in hospice care 6 months ago. How you like them “margins”?

Rob doesn't talk, none of the moves he actually makes are predicted in the media beforehand. This makes me doubt if we will make any of the trades being currently bounced around in the press. It doesn't mean that we won't make a trade, it's just likely to be something nobody predicted.
