i don't think anyone's actually suggested that, have they?

btw, bev/jones for OG works salary-wise, so we could, in theory, have anunoby and reddish instead of our two extra small guards, go from being a small team to a big one overnight.

i think the hold up would be if nunn needs to be included in other deals that interest us.

edit: btw, instead of the 27 and 29 picks, we could offer, say, the 27 pick and a 26 swap, perhaps with the swap having some degree of protection?

that will take more than 2. he's having a career year. i don't think we have enough if we offered every single thing not nailed down. (this is why i'm hesitant to trade future 1sts in general, because then you don't get to bid on siakam).

Maybe so but Bev, Nunn and Walker represent 25 million in salary add 1 FRP, that should bring in a high end player. I'd focus on the ones that are on expiring contracts and haven't signed an extension close to the deadline. Like Turner, Grant and Wood. All under 30.

considering Collins contract and his production decline, Atl mgmt is either stupid, moronic, delusional or all 3

NBA trade market is whatever the FOs are willing to pay. And I predict the Gobert fiasco is not something that is going to keep happening on a regular basis.

Right, the Gobert trade should be a cautionary tale, not the new benchmark.

I’d definitely do 2 second rounders for Reddish. I’d like to see what Ham can do with him.

They have a talented roster but it doesn't work. They should've moved him last year when his value was higher. They need a vet who Trae respects to manage the locker room a little and maybe they can get another piece too. But deals like the Jazz ones? Nah, that's not happening. I'd be utterly shocked if they got two unprotected picks.

OG is 6’7 and 240 lbs with a 7’3 wingspan. That would be quite the improvement in size over Pat Bev who is 6’2 and 180lbs and Nunn 6’3 and 190 lbs.

So I’d be all over OG for 2 firsts (maybe a 1st, a 2nd and a 1st swap). I’d rather bring back Stan (6’6 and 240 lbs) next year than trade for Cam Reddish though. Cam just isn’t very good.

    AD / Bryant
    Lebron / Gabriel
    OG / Stan
    Reaves / Christie
    Walker / Schroeder

Plus a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick (under the assumption we can’t retain Russ).

I disagree on OG not being an elite defender. First of all he guards 1-5 like Simmons (less than a handful of guys can do that in this league).

He leads the league in steals - 2.3 per game, leads the league in loose balls recovered per minute. He is third in deflections that lead to turnovers for the opposing team and fifth in overall deflections. Second in stocks with 3.1. He is second in defensive impact according to E+/-.

When guarding players in isolation, Anunoby holds them to 24.0% shooting, 0.71 points per possession, and forces a turnover 16% of the time. Absolutely dominant isolation defender.

Guy is going to be All Team Defense. Imagine him with AD behind me? And he is giving you 18/6 a game on top of that. Sign me up!

I haven't seen any of this watching Raptor games but I'll pay more attention moving forward. Maybe I just caught him on a couple of off nights..I wasn't impressed. He didn't look like a 2FRP guy against us either TBH.

For those saying we need to trade Russ for something and letting him expire is a bad outcome. Currently people want us to attach a first round pick to go along with his massive expiring and in return they’ll send us their terrible contracts. Further, it means we won’t be able to resign Bryant, Schroeder and maybe Walker. Is what we’re getting back better than those 3? What about another year of full roster turnover?

For those saying that resigning our guys is just expecting next year to be like this year - I agree with two changes. We probably don’t shoot historically bad to begin the year and we have some continuity. So I assume we play how we have over the last 30 games and not the first 12. So at a 60% win rate next year - we’re probably 25-16 right now and top 4 in the west. That’s not taking into consideration AD and Lebron being healthier, the development of Christie, Reaves and the new picks or any other vet minimums we add that want to rehab their situations like Monk/Nunn/Walker/Bryant/Schroeder have wanted to the last two seasons.

Last year I think we could have got him for 1FRP. But unfortunately the wolves kind of broke the market a bit, so he is worth two. It’s the going price for a premier 3&D wing and I think one of those would be the most valuable to us currently.
