yeah, i clearly didn't read the direct quotes i provided. i'm notorious for my poor reading comprehension.

i'm so bad i missed the list of names we were supposed to have traded russ for that fit all of our needs. i'm always missing those lists, btw. they must be everywhere, as everyone is convinced we had a zillion trade opportunities to get og anunoby types and just...chose to suck instead.

i've also missed the list of FAs we need to preserve our cap for this summer.

What is the most ridiculous click bait assertion that you have seen about the Lakers.

Recently saw a video claiming we were trading Lebron for RJ Barrett straight up but that perhaps some later round draft picks would have to be included. I immediately blocked that A*hat from my feed.

May have lowballed him. Or Turner wants to bounce.

Been listening to post game shows with this guy speaking a lot lately, and I largely agree with his takes. He’s extremely level-headed and speaks with his ideas clearly well thought out, so don’t judge his tweets how you read them in your head, he’s not the hated Anthony Irwin. I absolutely believe we should be both buyers and sellers in the trade market before the deadline, we should be using Russ’ money along with others to field as deep a team as we can with players we want long-term rather than going the cap space route. Not interested in getting Draymond or VanVleet with our 30 mil and signing 8 more minimums.

To me, I think Charlotte presents the best team to get back assets from while getting a fair deal. It’s a risk, but a healthy Gordon Hayward is the perfect fit next to Lebron and AD.

I can’t see anything happening with Kuz either even though I have always been a fan.

I expect us to be active at the trade deadline. There’s potential to get some picks coming back our way. We know the front office explored that with Utah and I imagine that’s in play with discussions with teams like Charlotte and New York if they want us to take on longer contracts.

I definitely agree that we’ve got to end this dependency on minimum signings.

Question remains if we can get all the cooks in the kitchen on the same page though.

right. it takes two to agree to an extension. i'm still interested in the idea that they were going to use space to give him more cash. this guy thinks the pacers leaked it, but that could also be myles's agent trying to get the bag before his next foot injury.

i'm with you on all this.

the guy weezy's quoting is still a bit more militant than i am, because he's still being kind of liberal with what our FO has said. they said we're not dealing picks unless it's something that makes us a contender quickly--not that we're not making trades at all unless they make us a contender.

i fully expect us to make one or more deals with one or more of the tanking teams involved prior to the deadline. they won't be what i want (full throttle, eat salary for talent left and right with no picks going out), but they'll improve our short and long-term odds. not by enough to please the naysayers, but i'm not sure what in the realm of possibility would, tbh.

i was pretty iffy on his involvement in any of our trade scenarios, and that obviously ices it.

Maybe it’s been posted but just saw an …. “and so it begins” maybe bringing the Pels back to earth in a The Athletic pop up on my phone screen …. Zion out 3 weeks likely with a hammy strain.

Edit … I see Weezy got it in NBA Discussion

hammy strain is one of the better case zion injuries, imo. i feel like he's always teetering on a foot or knee injury, and as he gets older, that back is going to go, too. just such an unusual athlete. more extreme version of AD/embiid/porzingis, imo. his body isn't supposed to move that way. i guess shaq and larry johnson are the best analogs in my memory.

Yeah. I don’t think there’s a perfect trade but I do think we can make some moves that help. I don’t see a move that will please everyone on paper but I can see guys end up winning people over as long as they are a good fit and play hard.

Agreed. I can’t see him holding up either. I think Larry Johnson as well.

I am not a fan of Oubre for this team. Those scoring numbers are empty stats imo. With that being said, I think it actually improves our chances of making a trade with Charlotte. Instead of looking at Oubre as a player that we would have to give minutes to, we could look at him as salary that we would have to absorb. From Charlotte's standpoint they likely lower their expectations of what they will receive back in an Oubre deal.

Outside of Rozier, Plumlee and Washington, the Hornets don't have anything worth going after. Neither Oubre now with his issues nor Hayward. Hayward in particular is alluring to some but he's way way too fragile. In the last 6 years the guy has had 1 good year. He's way worse than AD and AD's been a nightmare, can you imagine both?

If this were Hayward's last year on his deal I would entertain it because you might resign him cheap (MLE) now with his history.
