I mean the whole team gets the oh f*** the “correct” play is to pass to Russ for the open 3 in the corner but I really don’t want to because he’ll miss look

I think I saw Lebron, Bevs, and Schroeder wave that off and try doing something else instead of the normal swing pass

Oh great, now we get the passive/aggressive LeBron. Should have thought about winning when you said to trade for Russ or when you signed that massive paycheck extension.

Yeah it’s hypocritical but he’s not wrong. We need to make a trade or two to make this team better and we just have not done it yet. We all hope that we will before it’s too late this season. Get something for Bev Nunn and Jones who give us nothing.

I’m rooting now for Rob to do absolutely nothing and LeGM to get so frustrated that he asks to be traded day one of this offseason.
He’s done leading a team to a Chip and I will be happy to rebuild instead of pretending this isn’t the truth.

so much this. you have everything to do with where you're at. demand your trade in may; we might actually improve, tbh.

The biggest frontrunner in the NBA history.

But... that might just work to our advantage. I now see the light.

Jeanie extended Rob on purpose to singal to Bron that the Lakers are incomptent and will remain so, in order for him to ask out.

We then trade AD + Bron for 10 FRPs and let Joey/Jesse Buss run things.

the rob extension let lebron know he was no longer in charge of the front office. it was a year too late. i'm kind of enjoying watching him try to be passive aggressive when he has no actual power anymore, though.

if lebron and AD want out after the season, we can oblige them and basically have the same record next year as we have the past two. we won't get 10 picks. we probably won't even net a total of 5 between the moves, but we won't be asked to give them up, and we're almost certain to get some playable guys simply due to the amount of salary being moved.

That pick option that NOLA has in 24 kills us. It's still on AD prime so it made sense as we weren't expecting to be this bad at this time, but it definitely harms our ability to rebuild.

As I was saying several times before, our playoff window seems shut with LeBron after that BRICK trade and any course correction will just dig us a deeper hole. It’s time for an amicable divorce Jazz style.

yeah, i didn't expect us to be this bad at this point. maybe a year or two after that, but i had hopes lebron would retire and we could replace him. i didn't think AD would miss half of three seasons right in the middle of his prime.

i knew that the option on the pick was going to hurt, though, which is why NO asked for it of course. simply because it's hard to plan.

I bet the 3 of LeBron, Russ and AD were drinking wine or whatever and buzzed every time they got together, euphorically thinking how good it was going to be.

Well, he is correct in saying: "I can still compete for championships on a team with the right pieces". I mean... he can, no question about it. Put him on an actual contender to play the 3 or the 4 and he'll take them to that next level. I personally never liked his passive aggressive style or the fact that he's the one responsible for the Russ fiasco, but technically we still could right the ship because we do have several valuable pieces in trade. If the FO wants to compete now, they still could. They just seemingly chose not to, and AD being hurt just gives them the green light to explore the Buddhist path of "not being driven to activity".

i wonder if he regrets leaving cleveland

probably not because he can say he's won a title with 3 different teams, but still interesting to think about. especially with how good the cavs are now

I think AD health is the main reason the FO doesn't go all in to strengthen the squad. At least is what makes sense to me.

We could trade for Hield and Turner for both picks or any other (lopsided) deal teams would make us. Without AD we are still short of any chance to win a chip. We would be better but not good enough because for 3 straight seasons we don't have either or both LeBron and AD available. And without one or both, we can't win.

It's all about health to win championships and we haven't been fortunate to have it. So I understand being cautious and not doing deals just to save face in the moment and blow up our ability to actually be a front-runner a couple years from now, considering that any deal we do now is worthless if LeBron or AD are not healthy through the season to put us in the playoffs and then carry us through 4 playoff series.

If LeBron leaves the narrative will be “if he couldn’t fix the Lakers then who can.” And I think other top players will certainly take note of that. It will also be another burned bridge for a front office that already seems to be lacking good relationships around the league.

Much better to try to build the team up and make a run in a still wide open western conference IMO.

It took a couple of bad seasons for the Cavs to acquire the young players they have via the draft and be where they are today.

And we all know how LeGM feels about young players. If he were still there, it would be a mess, just like the Lakers.
