think i made this exact comparison a few pages ago (the last time we lost in this fashion). it's exactly like that: a strategy meant to minimize risk that basically does the opposite. it's fear of failure over pursuit of success. i'd rather turn it over trying to do what was working than pound the ball and take a long three with minimal chance of success.

Austin Reaves should shoot the last shot

Not sure I've seen him hit a late 3 in which he just holds the ball until the shot clock runs out. Went for a kill shot numerous times when we could've just tried to get some points.

And we'd still only be in the play-in, to put it in perspective.

There was a reason why Kobe was the most feared with the ball in his hands to win the game while in LeBron prime

AD should be touching the ball in these closing minutes. You know...the Franchise player in his prime, who is out there hooping his butt off? I'm going to have to dig up some stats later, but the eye test is telling me that Lebron is stinking it up in the 4th quarter, especially in the last 5 minutes or so. Maybe he's running on fumes by then?

They both stink in the last 5 minutes. AD looks terrified out there in a close game and all Lebron can do is shoot step back threes.

AD doesn't look terrified to me..he hardly touches the ball in crunch time.

He looked terrified at the line and that 3 ball he took was straight glass in OT. He also has the option to demand the ball. I'm not letting him off the hook either.

Like why the hell is he needlessly doubling? AD had him was he expecting a switch? poor communication. Ham needs to correct Lebron's BS. The man played AMAZING yesterday until the final 4 minutes. He was a +27 at one point and looking like he shaved 10 years off his age. Just dominant. BUT now its ball watching and threes? Is it fatigue at the end of games? Ham needs to have some uncomfortable conversations with him cause that's unacceptable. Rest if your tired or at least pass the ball to someone else to create.

I don't think LeBron has the guts to take that type of shot being down 1 point, since it was a tie and just got schooled by Tatum one on one, it was LeEgo trying to make another difficult shot in his face, they should had a better play design for a better shot, AD would demand a double at least or LeBron post up using his size closer to the basket.

yeah, it's called self-handicapping, and lebron definitely does it. if it goes in, you're a hero because it's a difficult shot. if you miss, it was a difficult shot, so you can't be blamed. you think lebron wants to be at that ft line in the clutch? that's why he doesn't drive, imo. he's worried that a) he'll get fouled without a call (possible) or b) he'll get fouled with a call. it's the ben simmons thing in different clothing, imo, only he won't have his coach and fellow players turn on him for it.

Good game from King. Shot was falling. Was engaged and competitive on both ends. Didn't pack it in after AD went down.

Weird Lebron got so much grief when he was played what 17 minutes in a row the other day?
At least Ham took him out for a minute and then the Lakers looked like trash and put him right back in lol tonight

Yeah Ham has to keep getting him a breather in the middle of the 4th so that he has his legs. Even if he asks to stay in. He just can't be playing 12+ minutes in a row now.

Could NOT disagree any more. He most certainly didn't bring it on BOTH ends of the court. His defense was GODAWFUL.

Especially without AD, the possessions on the floor without Lebron looked comical in the 4th. A bit frustrating Lebron is going to be ending up more healthy than AD at this rate
