Yeah, I haven't done the math on it but I would definitely try to lowball them for Reddish. Whole thought is buying low. He's out of the rotation. Shouldn't cost much to get him especially considering what better players were dealt for over the summer.

if the ask is too much then you walk away.

what exactly do we have to offer in a trade for a "star"?

I'd keep an eye on Atlanta. John Collins is on the block, and Trae Young is having HC issues. We don't have enough for Young, but I wouldn't complain about a John Collins trade.

LVBD mentioned Bogdanovic from the Hawks as a possible target and I like that idea. Either Bogdanovic works for me. Those two can shoot.

I would be ok with taking back Fournier if we can get a first round pick out of the Knicks for it. The logic makes sense, the entire league wanted at least 1 FRP to take on Westbrook’s expiring contract, Fournier has several years left on his deal.

If we can do that and suddenly have a Knicks FRP and our 2 first to dangle with Westbrook’s expiring deal, we may be in business to do get that All star level player. The big problem to me is I don’t know who that all star level player would be outside of Kyrie. There isn’t anyone who’s clearly headed for a breakup with their current team right now.

Looking at team record, if their respective teams continue to struggle as we get closer to the trade deadline and these players suddenly do become available, I would be ok with unloading the picks and Russ for:

    - Jimmy Butler - If Miami is a play-in tournament team by the trade deadline, would Miami be open to resetting the deck by offloading Butler for 3 picks? He's missed alot of games this season and is a win now type player.
    - Klay Thompson - I don't think Golden State entertains trading Klay until the offseason, and that would be only if they flame out in the playoffs and they want to reduce their salary/luxury tax costs. However, they save more money by doing the deal and taking on Westbrook's expiring and getting 3 picks out of it.
    - Bradley Beal - I would prefer to pass on Bradley Beal altogether, but can see the front office doing this trade. Beal misses alot of time and he's got a massive contract.
    - Zach Lavine - I'd prefer Beal over Lavine, as Lavine misses about the same amount of time as Beal. Beal is the better player of the two. Lavine is a Klutch client, so that could mean something if he forces a trade.

I don't know, been hearing about Cam Reddish since he was drafted, all the potential. none of the results. Maybe it is situational but it's his 4th year now. Yeah, he has the perfect NBA body and has displayed skills but can't seem to put those together to equal anything special. For a guy known to defer his game and disappear, how does that fit alongside 3 superstars?

think i said this elsewhere, but the problem is that the knicks are in a similar boat to us--they want to aggregate guys to make a bigger move, and i imagine they'd rather have reddish be part of that than sell him for a 2nd.

    i might need more.

this works, zero picks exchange hands or we give them a 2nd and they give us a conditional first:

beal's the only one i'm giving up much in the way of picks for. butler is getting up there in years, and thompson just isn't thompson (don't think gs moves him in a dump anyway). lavine's injury history is very concerning.

butler would be a great fit here...maybe i'd consider that...

LaVine has a more dependable three-point shot than Beal and is big enough to slide to the three, unlike Beal.

Maybe he needs a fresh start man. Stanly was bouncing around the league prior to coming to us. Once he put on the purple and gold, people acted like he was the second coming of Ron Artest.

    Zach LaVine from Chicago Bulls

LaVine recently signed a contract and, as a result, he cannot be traded until Jan 15, 2023.

This front office has proven that they will wait. The FO has pushed back this supposed "deadline" twice at least so waiting till Jan is definitely not out of the question. Again the only risk that creates is will it be too late at that point if we further behind in the West.

Waiting to dump on the FO until at least a week following the Dec 15 deadline made sense to me. Now with BevMo playing like dog s*** .... his only value is expiring salary. F all of our Ls.

I'll take Fournier!!! He's having a down year, but the sample size is small and he's been a solid shooter his entire career so far.

Lavine is not gettable with what we have in my opinion, plus just signed a new contract so he has no leverage.

Not only the Bulls still want to build around him but he'll command at least 3-4 first rounders like Donovan Mitchell did in the summer, or some other young talent that we also do not have.

Beal might be a little more gettable, but still unlikely the Wizards would take what we have to offer.

lavine isn't big enough to play sf. he's 6'5" 200. beal's 6'4" 210. over the course of their careers, beal averages more games per year, and his injuries have been less scary, imo.

also, i've just never been a big lavine fan.

wasn't the word that ny would attach reddish or quickley to fournier to move him? thibs would probably like bevs, too, tbh.
