This is BS. I don't get this crap about other areas being full of racists. Truth is, in most other places, the people are much nicer, and more welcoming, than they are here. You can barely walk down the street here and even say hi to anyone without it being a weird encounter on some level. I am frigging tired of this absolute BS about all these more conservative areas being full of racists and bigots. There are more racists and bigots in California than anywhere else I have been to.

That’s a weird thing to say, thinking the world has changed and the old ways of selling players on the lakers is outdated isn’t being jealous of people living in LA. You can keep LA, I support the Lakers and want the best for them.

No Kyrie, Simmons of the bench with reduced minutes and the Nets are back to winning... who knew ;)

Your experience bro, not everyone's at all. Have you lived in these other "places"?

I think you're overreaching on your calculations. Teams usually have 2 to 3 big road trips. Then they have smaller road trips and usually just fly the day before or so. It's also not 6 months living where they want. Even if the season ends in April, next one starts in September with training camp so you have around 4 months off before training camp. NBA is also trying to reduce the amount of traveling and some road games you just fly to play and get back like I imagine we did with SAC and GS this off-season.

This year the Lakers probably only had around 10 days on the road since the start of training camp at September 27

Russ for example said last year how he enjoyed spending time with his family in LA which he wouldn't if it wasn't that much of a difference as you're stating

I still fully agree that we can't just sell LA because the market did change and you can get endorsements and buzz around you in any city. But it's still relevant.
We're also the biggest franchise ever and his different to win a title with the Clippers or Suns than with us because all of our history and great names that won with us. That's one of our biggest selling cards to any other franchise

Regardless, if we're are not competent and don't assemble competitive teams it will be hard to lure a superstar to come. In the end they all want to win and we won't get lucky again like with LeBron

I agree. Blanketing an entire state, or even a county within a state, is ignorant, hateful, and fake. It doesn’t belong here in this basketball forum.

I wouldn't say that Lavine is just another shooting guard. He is one of the better three-point shooters in the game today. He also scores in other ways too. That would be a great compliment to Lebron. Also, he is young. In regards to being injury prone, for their careers, LaVine has played in 74% of the games and AD 75%. LaVine had a tough time in 16-17 and 17-18 where he only played 47 and 24 games respectively, but he has gotten past those devastating two seasons and has since become and all-star level talent. LaVine has actually played in 79% of this games over the last 5 years, while AD has only played in 62% of those games. They both could use a fresh start tbh.

Looks like a good trade to me, with no 1st round draft picks involved. Charlotte really needs to give them selves a shot to obtain the generational talent in Wembayama. Moreover, they owe their pick to San Antonio if it is not in the top 16. Lakers could in a sense have their cake and eat it too with this trade. First, they give their selves a shot to win now. Rozier could make an impact as a third option that fits. Hayward and Oubre give us options on the wing. Thor is a project, but is young and talented. If Lakers plan to reset after the season, Hayward is an expiring contract they could dangle with picks if they choose to go that route.

could also do a version where we take plumlee if they think they'd rather hold onto oubre. i'd take that trade, too.

if we'd just take on some salary, i think our trade options open up quite a bit. that's the one thing that's bothered me most about the FO. if this is really about cost-saving after you gave lebron the huge extension...i mean, what gives?

Big fan of Lavine being a UCLA alum but he's "Mr Glass" this season, Bulls have been injury managing him all season. And for someone who's game is based a lot on his athleticism, a lower body injury is worrisome. If we were trading AD for someone, I'd rather it be someone that isn't just as or more injury prone than him.

I think LaVine significantly improved his three point shooting after the injuries that he sustained early in his career. I think that will help him have some longevity in the league. If he never did that, he would be in a much worse position. I don't really expect him to be much of a highlight reel player moving forward. Who would you recommend we trade AD for?

A back court of Rozier and Hield would help solve much of our shooting problems.

spent a ton of time in a lot of these places. Been going to the south for 30 years on a regular basis. Found the people there a whole lot kinder, a whole lot more welcoming than California has been in 50 years.

On top of that, Californians seem to think they know everything and understand more than anyone. They don't!
