I don't think it's the physical decline. He is ill and is gutting it out, which is admirable. In the process, however, he is being incredibly dense with the way he plays.

My favorite play is him driving into the paint against three or four defenders when he doesn’t have any momentum to get lift and hopes the refs will bail him out and complains when they don’t

5-10x a game it seems. Good times.

He starts every season off with no lift on his drives, at least since he's been in LA. It's takes him about a month to get those old springs fully activated. He is probably still not at 100%, but he has to play smarter. Post up more, get some pick and roll going with AD. The iso ball isn't popping right now. I thought that we were going away from that anyway? Darvin has his biggest challenge ahead...getting Lebron on script.

Unfortunately old man Lebron needs to sacrifice for the betterment of the team. AD is playing the 5 and anchoring the D, Russ is coming off the bench, Lebron needs to distribute better, play better D and play within the team offensive concepts on the nights he doesn’t have it.

Don't think he will. Wish we could trade him... We are not winning anything with him and AD, might as well start the rebuild early. At least out scouting dept. knows their s***.

my tongue in cheek Westbrook may be our best player this year wasn't really a joke. If AD can stay healthy and ball out, he may be more impactful. Lebron is still putting up numbers despite the eye test, but that shooting percentage is nowhere close to his normal standard. It just wouldn't surprise me that we all agree with that take at the end of the year.

he's been meh to bad on offense by his standards, but we gave up 130 points. i didn't see the game, but to me, that's the story. our offense isn't good enough to score that much, so when we give it up, we're going to lose.

They were hitting everything. And in the first half I mean everything, at one point they were shooting over 70%. I don’t care if you’re the worst defence in the NBA, teams rarely shoot over 50% collectively against even the worst defensive sides.

Just one of those games where we couldn’t slow down their hot shooting and they didn’t cool off in the second half enough.

LeBron didn’t have it and you could tell right off the bat.

It's been that way 2 games in a row.

Dude, if you're not right physically, just sit out.

    He definitely isn't helping us.

Slick I've agreeing a lot lately. Darvin's biggest challenge imo is getting Lebron on script. He can still be very effective and can score much easier if he would buy in. Instead of driving into double and triple teams or launching desperation threes he could be getting easy cuts to the hoop on slip screens, back cuts and a few offensive rebounds. I know he will get better as the season goes on but we could be in an even much bigger hole by then. Russ had to adjust, Lebron needs to as well. Still can be a very good player.

It’s the same story with the “but he’s not clutch” takes. Literally every data point that exists points to him being clutch but because of one series in 2011 everyone is like “SEE NO KILLER INSTINCT”. It’s hilarious.

I don’t know. He’s playing through it while getting over a nasty bug so I commend the effort. He’s just not his usual self. He’s human and still getting near triple doubles but he’s shooting poorly. Overall we just didn’t close Utah out after a great comeback. They just got hot again in the fourth.
