Will we improve??…sure. It’s hard to lose 5 out of every 6 games. Are we some top of the conference team……hell no.

I’m not sure anything is clear yet. Boston looked like they were in the play in around New Year last year.

I’ve been quite happy with the additions of Lonnie Walker and Troy Brown Jr. Those two young guys can play. We know Reaves is settling in great.

We just need one of Nunn (who was playing great in preseason), Schroeder (who played great during the offseason) or Beverley to get going.

And we need one big to step up and contribute consistently out of Wenyen, Bryant and Jones.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that a good defensive team of Bev, Walker, Brown Jr, Lebron, AD in the starting lineup with Russ, Nunn, Reaves, JTA and Bryant off the bench can’t get home court advantage in the west.

I know Portland, Utah and San Antonio won't be either Cookie! I'm standing my ground on top 3 in the West. Might take a minute to get there though. Barring injury to Lebron or AD of course

I'm with you, but I have to admit that I hate Pat Beverley though. I hope Dennis and Kendrick knock him down to 10 min or less eventually. I just didn't like that trade. I Believe that Wenyen, Bryant and Jones, can give us at least Javale/Dwight caliber minutes. Not the elite shot blocking , but some decent rim defense and hopefully a little more offensive punch. I was looking forward to seeing Thomas getting his jumper going by now.
I Can't complain about the Defense overall so far, the offense will come.

Oh Christ, only Lakers fans… it was one game. Is that all we need? For one of our veteran minimum bigs that have shown nothing or nothing adjacent so far to step up big? 34 year old Beverley just needs to suddenly become a scorer? This was and remains a mediocre team, a 7th to 11th seed at best, nothing has changed. We shot 43% from three and won, I predicted like a week ago this would be our first win, a very up and down Denver team at home, this team is beyond predictable. We aren’t as bad as our first 5 games shooting, and we aren’t as good as the last one, it’s somewhere in the middle. I don’t know how anyone can look at this roster though, and see AD killing himself nightly to carry us, us needing LeBron to remain crazy good in year 20 to win, and say we could still get homecourt for the playoffs, let alone be assured we MAKE the playoffs. Just crawling out of of the hole we have put ourselves in will be almost impossible with the roster as is.

What’s wrong with being optimistic if I prefer to look at things that way? There’s nothing wrong with seeing things a different way Weezy - I respect your points of view.

I don’t want Beverley to become a scorer but he can be an ok 3&D SG like he has his whole career. Why can’t Schroeder and Nunn be a spark plug off the bench? They can both score. As for the bigs, Bryant is an ok option for 20 mins off the bench, Wenyen is playing ok… is it crazy to think they can’t contribute? I think we could also pick up Stanley Johnson if we need some SF/PF defence around mid season, or maybe bring Melo back if we need shooting.

It’s not crazy to think we could be a top 6 team and snag home court advantage potentially.

It’s fine, sorry, you’re right, you can be optimistic. I think it just bothers me when it’s taken to IMO unrealistic levels because that’s clearly how our FO thinks, they talk themselves into a bad team turning things around at some point and then nothing gets done. I don’t think we are higher than a play-In team, but ok. All those things you’re saying can happen, but it still doesn’t add up to a home court team, which is a top 4 seed, not 6. We can’t get Stanley to my knowledge though, he’d have to be signed and then waived again, and at that point do we even want him? If we’re hoping on Stanley to that degree we’re likely already screwed. He’s a nice player, but not a rotation guy on a real team. Just like Troy Brown Jr is a nice player, but he couldn’t even crack the Bulls rotation until injuries happened from what I’ve heard, on a good team he isn’t starting for you.

If you’d like to argue a point, please do so but just calling someone’s post bull s*** doesn’t encourage discussion.

Kyrie looks totally defeated after tonight. Bet you Marks wishes he made that trade for Russ now? Lol. No going back. Sorry, Sean. Lol.

There's really nothing I'm interested in: Chicago won tonight. I'm still watching that situation probably for nothing. Think it's worth a shot to call AK if Chi is struggling and see if LaVine is available.

Seeing him drop 20 in the 4th tonight against Brooklyn. Yeah, I'm interested. Might not mean Chicago is, but Rob likes to swing for the fences...

I didn't even get past the title. No the Kings would not be open to doing that, Fox is their star. Besides, he's a less built version of Westbrook but with more emphasis and energy devoted to playing D. Not the upgrade we are looking for with Lebron and AD and also considering Fox's lengthy deal. Besides, Sac is gonna put all their stock in Davion Mitchell after 1 year of non-impressive numbers?

I assumed since Stanley was waived by Utah, we could get him after a certain amount of time elapsed. He has some nice energy, defended & cut well and passed decently.

Maybe we are just a play in team, I’ve got no problems with that if we can’t improve realistically. I do hope we look at trades, Russ as an expiring could bring back a piece or two. As long as we don’t trade the picks.

My only hope and wish this season is we don’t give the Pelicans the Number 1 pick.

Davis for LaVine makes sense. I brought this up a while back, but I got demolished for it. It seems that most fans are reactive, rather then proactive. They want to trade a player when they are bad and trade for a player when they are good. Maybe they do a deal with Both Chicago and Indiana. This way, they get some rim protection to replace AD with.

I like LaVine a lot, have for many years. Problem is he’s just as injury prone as AD, so I don’t really see the point. If I’m going to have a player that can’t stay healthy I prefer the big that plays incredibly good defense. If LaVine could stay healthy I take him in a second, love his game, but he can’t.

Lavine is more injury prone than AD and he is a worse player. Maybe something like Caruso, Lavine and Derozan plus a first. But then we’d be lacking any quality big men.

there was confusion about this (from me) before, but no, we can't get stan until a year from when we traded him. they closed that loophole a few years ago. though i will say that it was not intended for a guy like johnson, who's on a vet min and is sitting at home unemployed.

unfortunate unintended consequence of a good rule change.

did i demolish you? if not, can i do it now? lol.

seriously, though, as others said, trading for an equally injury prone and inferior player isn't the answer at all.

    It's a concern.

I like Beal. Siakim? Might have spelling wrong , but he won't fit. Going through the list in my head...there's just nobody that emerges that I can say trade the house for that's an All-Star.

And if that's what we're looking for, I just don't see a trade happening. Myles and Buddy just aren't worth it.

Heck, you can find an impact piece for $20 million of so just trading Bev+Nunn and second rounders.

right. if russ can play effectively for 25mpg off the bench and schroder can just be himself upon return from injury, we have bevs/nunn to peddle around for a wing or center as the season progresses, and that kind of expiring money can get us a player that can make an impact, imo. at least it has in the past for other teams (see: clippers, like every year).

    no need to move picks!
