agree. he's a fifth starter not a sixth man, if you will. i felt the same way about caruso when he was here even though we didn't really use him that way, either.
Averaged 23 mins last year but just 16 minutes last night? I guess Ham isn't high on him? Beverley plays 25 mins yet couldn't go a second without bear hugging an opposing player.
the optimist in me says ham is intentionally giving his bad vets (russ, bev) their chances while the schedule is brutal, so he can point to team failure as a reason for change.
He needs to start because there's no point in being a connector to a bench unit. The issue is the roster construction and salary attached to those ahead of him on the depth chart. Might not have a big role until Russ is moved.
I hope so because he’s doing what I feared most using 3 short guards and starting them no less. Wiggins just was shooting over every little guy, even Steph was shooting over Lonnie
not to keep beating the drum, but portland started simons/lillard/hart. miami is playing either jimmy butler or caleb martin as the starting pf (!!). many teams are playing 4-5 guys under 6'6" regular minutes. only ours can't shoot, but that's a separate issue... and we didn't lose to gs because wiggins was shooting over people. it happened like, once or twice. we lost because we couldn't make a shot and we couldn't contain anyone on the perimeter, which led to easy shots for them all over the court.
Everything he does is smart. A joy to watch. Needs to become more confident and make plays more often. Hope we lock him for the long term
Just like his rookie season he shows he has the balls to take the big momentum shot and make big plays. That no hesitation long bomb late in the 4th was HUGE.
Love this dude, he’s such a smart player, great to see some big threes fall for him. If he can gain some consistency with his outside shot, just look for it a little more, he’ll be a solid rotation player in this league.
It would be so amazing. They actually complement each other and would have been a great supporting cast to 2 wing/big stars Hopefully we sign Caruso back
