Oh I’m with you on this. I’ve been begging us to wave the white flag and make a move since last December
That shows you are a man. So far, I’ve been wrong about Walker. Would be nice if he could improve his 3 point % though.
Never seen a situation like this: a whole team lineup that is made up with a potential trade that didn't happen (hield/turner) and is still acting like it's going to happen. Turner/Hield fixes the shooting a bunch, Turner allows Ham to play the coverages he likes/allows the Laker D to survive with AD on the bench/allows AD to play the 4, Hield with AD/Turner behind him and Brown/Walker/Reave/Bev is not a defensive liability. Just weird
Anyone with half a brain who’s either played or watched the game for a limited time KNEW after witnessing these three together after 5 games that it wouldn’t work. MOST of us knew before even seeing them play one minute together that it wouldn’t work. I don’t care if LeBronze wanted Brick, Rob is the GM and it’s his job to not make stupid trades that ruin a Franchise for TWO seasons.
Absolutely. And I said on another thread, I’m honestly past whose fault it was. It was a mistake. A huge one. Move on for the good of everyone.
We’re seeing our big two can still bring it and we’ve got some guys who are fun to watch. Take the final step. Trade Russ.
We have Utah winning games like this and Russ literally throwing games away for us, lol. ROFL. And Utah is tanking. Am I in the bizarre world?
Shocking! A team that only added low talented size at Center who gets consistently out rebounded? Nobody could have seen this coming! It’s okay though, because it’s a guard’s League and all of the Super Star Guards that our GM added this summer are scoring sooo much that rebounding really doesn’t matter.
I may be the only one, but if all this team has to offer this year is Lebron passing Kareem for all-time points scored, I couldn't care less, and I am unlikely to be watching at that point. I'm actually ok however with letting Westbrick expire in a Lakers uniform if the FO admits this team is unfixable, and that it's better to free up cap for next summer than making any trade that may jeopardize our future further. everyone in the organization pretending that somehow we're a title contender is what really annoys me.
This can’t go on the full season, it can’t. Both Lebron and AD will get injured from carrying this roster on their backs, the chemistry will be so in the toilet from losing that tensions will run high, you just can’t do it. You have to move Russ at some point for whatever rotation pieces you can get while only trading 1 pick or maybe 1 and a 2nd, or you have to send him home.
I'm for the "send him home" option. There is no realistic trade out there that makes it worth giving up the two FRPs IMO. And quite honestly, I don't even want to give up 1 pick. We need to think about the long term, Lebron be damned.
i think there's a progression. next step is he doesn't start or close (should have been step 1 instead of 2, but we wanted to lose a couple games, i guess). after that, you send him home if he pouts (and recent history says he pouts). but i agree--i'm not giving up picks to offload him unless a serious upgrade is coming (it's not, imo). so, sitting out it is. let his agent beat the bushes for trades, only to find out what we all know.
This is the frustrating part. The team is humming defensively. With Russ being Russ, with Nunn getting cooked, with Jones getting worked... we're putting up elite defensive numbers. Turner slots in perfectly in us sustaining this and locks us in at top 3 defensively. As it stands, how long are the guys willing to kill themselves defensively when the result is a loss? Most players don't enjoy defense (AD does, Bev does), it's really hard work. As these demoralizing losses stack up are they going to take their foot off the gas defensively? I don't think the current defensive ask of AD is sustainable, whether you think he's injury prone or not. He's flying around out there like his hair is on fire. The other bigs are playing like trash and not giving him any help defensively. Get the man some help. Turner can allow AD to take plays off and prevents the massive drop off when he sits. Then you can afford to throw in Gabriel in the trade and you can afford to move on from Ryan. You can round out that wing defense with that last spot on someone like Harkless or get the Pacers to throw in Brissett. The offense is bad. The D won't hold. There's an easy fix out there. Rob just has to win a trade negotiation, which I'm not sure he's capable of.
I know Slick says things will be fine come Nov (lol) but it is past time to make the decision on Westbrook... He needs to be sent home....period. 25 for 118 from distance has been our downfall (21.2%) Either swallow the asking price of 2 first rounders and get a couple of players into our rotation, specifically one that can shoot or run with what you have minus Westbrook......PERIOD!!!!
Well I can't say I'm surprised by the "sh*tshow" we are seeing right now. Yes, the team is fighting and playing some defense but the shooting is kind of really just sad.... Whenever somebody shoots, nobody expects it to go in, not even the players themselves. Its just sad...and it was sad last year and everybody and their mother knew we need shooting. You can say Pelinka didn't have the money nor the assets to sign any decent player but he is responsible for this in the first place. He has been here 3-4 years now, so its the result of his work. Kind of really pathetic the downfall. I can't even say that I'm mad because I kind of never believed this team could do anything of importance. Given the fact that we are a bottom half team, the picks will hurt even more. Looking Davis crawling out there with zero athleticism etc...just shaking my head.
Yeah. I'll say it again. This team can compete. Especially if we can add some solid pieces. And making moves now doesn't have to mean we screw ourselves in the future. We see a lot of angles being pursued in the trade talks. If you give up picks, you can bring back a pick and /or a young asset in return as was on the table with Utah.
