How is Rob a “scapegoat” when he’s the GM who made the trade?
Yes, LeGM really wanted Westbrick and has a lot of pull but Rob is the GM.
Rob had to sign off on it.
He’s no scapegoat, he’s just really awful at his job and will continually be called out for it until the results prove otherwise.

Well I have similar feelings about KD but the Nets are nothing without him even if they aren't a proven contender with him. And as for our roster being inadequate, that's obvious. We need to make moves and get help, everyone knows that. But it doesn't change the fact that even with a couple difference-making role players we go nowhere without LBJ and AD and neither do the teams with the stars I mentioned.

Oh. I’m going further back with that comment. That’s why I didn’t quote anyone.

The stats isn’t the first time Browns name has been mentioned. I can’t speak for every post but I’ve brought him up in response to that question when I’ve been asked what I would do. That’s what was on my mind there.

Okay, but my point is that it is still important to have capable players who contribute to winning basketball beyond your top two players.
Well built and balanced squads win Championships. Ones with multiple holes in many areas do not.

Poeltl is a pretty good center, problem would be his fit with AD.

Point taken but who fills the holes for LBJ and AD on the bubble team? A championship team. Who's gonna score the ball? KCP? Caruso? Danny Green? Dwight? Kuzma? Markieff Morris? McGee? Those were our top players after LBJ and AD. Without play-in this team doesn't even make 8th spot and get in the playoffs.

No matter how bad this season gets, at least we didn't hire that fool this summer. Those rumors terrified me.

philly will be fine, but you always have to worry about a team that has harden as one of its leaders.

Philly looks absurdly bad so far. They might be one of the teams that might be a candidate for a Westbrook salary dump if they continue to struggle by the trade deadline. They will need to pay Tyrese Maxey this off-season as well, plus Harden is up for an extension. A salary dump can help minimize future luxury tax and allow them flexibility moving forward.

I think if Philly continues to struggle, they may seriously consider pulling the trigger on a Westbrook + one Lakers FRP for a Tobias Harris, De’Anthony Melton, Matisse Thybulle package.

The appeal to Philly is to get out of the longer term contracts of Harris and Melton, while also getting a future pick out of it. They also did not give Thybulle a extension and he’s up for restricted free agency after this season. Thybulle is a very good wing defender and he isn’t getting any minutes in Philly.

For the Lakers, this package solves the wing defense and lack of 3 point shooting problem this roster has and potentially only costs the team only one future pick.

This depth chart should perform much better than what we are now:

    Nunn/Schroder/Beverley
    Walker/Thybulle/Reaves
    Lebron/Melton/Brown
    Harris/JTA/Gabriel
    AD/Jones/Bryant

Same goes for Embiid imo, he’s not really the leader type. PJ Tucker might be the glue guy that holds them together if they continue struggling
