There's no trade out there that can help us (at least not now). Indy's asking price is ridiculous and it makes us what? A play in team?

As someone who never loved the Indiana deal, I do feel like it would help the team quite a bit. Especially if we're getting these versions of LeBron and AD.

I don't know. I still feel like Indiana is going to kick themselves for not making a reasonable deal here.

i think it puts us firmly in the group of 4-7 in the west. but is that enough to justify sacrificing all ability to make any trade involving outgoing picks for a few years? or not having control of half your picks, post-lebron/AD?

yeah, if indy was managed by almost anyone else (or if rob and co hadn't tampered with george), i think it would have gotten done.

indy won't get two 1sts for turner as an impending unrestricted FA, and they'll get nothing of value for hield with one more full year on his deal past this one, imo. i suppose maybe some team will give them a prospect they can't use (think THT type) for each of them, and maybe indy calls that a win.

Did you see him saying that coming off the bench was the reason why he tweaked his hamstring? Got a good laugh out of that one.

But this year do we even have any? I mean Pat Bev I guess but he’s not known as a shooter per se, more a pesky defender. Nunn has an ok % but is more of a scorer than a shooter. Reaves can’t shoot yet from distance consistently. We have no one to space the floor. Walker? Who knows, not familiar with his game.

I mean, yes, that's the million $ question. And no one really knows the answer, it's a gamble. That trade does make us better, everyone fits and we sort of contend, depending on health.

No, none of them are really shooters. Some are scorers who can kinda shoot the 3 when they get hot, that's all. So, you're 100% correct here. PatBev: Defender with some shooting ability. Nunn: playmaker/scorer. Reaves: jack of all trades. Walker: athletic scorer. There's no one here who you could call "shooter".

Injury prone. Bulls should cut bait now and trade him for someone with a large expiring contract.

With a healthy Lebron and AD adding Myles Turner and Buddy Hield makes us better than a play-in team.

nope. they went with athleticism this season after going all in on 3 pt shooting was a massive failure last year

Trading for Russ meant filling out the rest of the roster with either washed up vet mins( last year) or g-leaguers (this year). At that salary, your big 3 have to play like super stars.

right. all three have to, and all three have to be available. even then, it's hardly a proven formula for success. i've ranted about this before, but the 2010-era heat really warped opinions on this. and the irony is that a) they were able to retain a key rotation player (haslem) and nab some very useful veterans (mike miller, shane battier, ray allen), some using the relatively larger mle. so they were never a 3 star + vet min team. and their three stars were all in their prime.

there is no blue print for a three max + merry minimums title winner, really. i guess maybe the 2008 C Bags, but that's a stretch, imo, as they, too carried over some starters.
