If the Warriors are paying this much now, I say no way do they even offer Green a contract.

    it’s just maths

guessing the warriors are pointing at wiggins and looney's deals and telling green his extension spot lies somewhere between those numbers. i'm also guessing he'll take that cash rather than test FA because i don't think the klutch tax is THAT large for us.

solid deal on clarke. love him as a backup utility big. high energy, super high iq, team-first. worth every penny, imo.

reminds me of when we signed kuz and kcp. *weeps quietly*

interesting that they'd give him 4 years. he seems like a psych risk. quite talented, though.

I like the collection of young players Rockets have been collecting and developing.

KPJ and Jalen Green look like the next Sexton/Garland. I have Jabari Smith Jr as RotY.

That would be solid with no 1st round picks involved. Charlotte gets significant cap relief in Summer of 2023 and this trade makes them a worse team.

Or, Hornets can go all out and trade Rozier/Hayward/Washington for Westbrook/Nunn/Wenyan. I'm not sure if we could afford it, but those contracts would be more moveable if we keep our picks.

Time for Charlotte to tank the season and rebuild. This can be accomplished by doing the following:

    1. Trade Rozier/Hayward/Washington to Lakers for Westbrook/Nunn/Gabriel/2025 2nd/2027 2nd/2029 2nd/ 3 million cash.

    2. Cut Westbrook

Trading those guys makes Charlotte significantly worse and they save a ton of money.

i think at this point if we're eating all that salary, they owe us some form of compensation, tbh. that's why i left rozier out of my hypothetical.

his contract is 3 more years past this one. also, they don't really need to rip it down the studs. they can afford rozier and still have more cap space than they'll ever need for the next two to three years.

if they balked at washington, i'd consider just taking mason plumlee and sending them one of our recently signed centers or something.

i just don't think they're interested in dealing with washington's RFA next summer. he's not a foundational piece, and i'm not sure if they want to get negotiated up to a price that restricts them.

anyway, yes, lots of possibilities still there, even with the bridges thing throwing a wrench in the process.

you’re talking about Eason? I don’t think he gets as much playing time in the regular season

yeah, i think there's a chance he's better both in the short and long term, tbh. they'll both get plenty of minutes, though.

I hear you. That's why I didn't add any first round picks coming from our side. I kind of viewed that as compensation for us. I know Rozier is like a super expensive version of Nunn, but he is more proven and without the injury risk. BTW, if Nunn shows out this season, what kind of contract do you think he would command?

I don't think Westbrook for Hayward/Oubre/Plumlee is enough. Perhaps the Lakers may view is as enough though because we get two wings out if it, and they are a hot commodity.
