He's making more than Embiid next season. It's hilarious. Granted, Embiid's next deal will demolish any Poole will ever approach

This is the biggest reason why our FO HAS to have the best and brightest running things.
Currently, we just can’t compete with the imbalance in payroll AND intelligence lacking in our FO.

I was becoming on board with the idea of keeping Russ and our picks, going into next summer with all our assets and maximum cap space…

But naw, these extensions from GSW scare me. Trade Russ for long term salary ASAP please because I want to eliminate any possibility of signing Draymond…

Someone make a $483 million payroll make sense. Even if you're a billionaire, I don't see how that's sustainable.

I think LeGM has already strongly told Rob he expects Draymond to be a Laker next summer.

it's irresponsible, but the league has set it up so they profit greatly from owners like that in the repeater luxury tax, so crap teams that never intended to compete will never complain.

Folks, most of the media coverage is filler content. As far as I am aware, my previous update is still the status quo. All eyes are on Indiana caving midseason. Two picks + Westbrook is not off the table from LAL's side -- but more than that is!

Regarding Green, there are no legs to this idea. Sentiment from Klutch is that he is a Warrior for life. LeBron and AD would obviously love to have him on LAL, but neither Green nor Klutch see the value in burning bridges to play for a less competitive team that is a worse fit for his play style. Based on what I know about Lacob and Meyers, in my opinion they will pay to resign Green, just probably not the max. They may also be looking to see how his body holds up during this new season and how the young guys step up before making any major decisions on his contract.

Otherwise, internally the team is very pleased with Ham so far and the buy-in he's gotten from the players! Just the fact that he was able to get Westbrook to agree to come off the bench was a huge win in their eyes. The hope is that LAL can maximize their lineup and maybe over-achieve a little with the improved coaching, and then be in a better position to negotiate during the season. After all, a team that's the 4th seed will seem much less desperate than one that is the 9th or 10th.

Looking forward to this new season everyone!! Should be very exciting for us all!!! Any questions please reach out.

"He was able to get Russ to come off the bench..."

ROFL. Maybe because they discussed that possibility months ago during dinner.

    Good grief.

wiggins's contract is great for gs and a testament to organizational culture. and it bodes well for him, too, as while folks are trying to re-bill him as a max guy, he's a super-charged mikal bridges and got paid as such. good on him that he chose to stay in a great situation for maybe a few million less per than he'd have gotten to try his hand at being a #2 in a crap market again.

poole's an overpay but again, if you have the cash, let's keep it harmonious.

all that said, i still see a messy divorce with green coming. hopefully, we're not involved unless we get to charge them a wiseman or moody to eat that problem.

and per rambis's info above: this is what i thought--indy was asking for MORE than 2 1sts and russ for those guys.

The 483 million or so is just the top line figure. That’s only an operating loss of 100m to the team and I think they’re willing to do that for a few seasons. Especially because the ownership group will try to recoup a large junk of that from other events in their new stadium.

Long term it’s a much easier pill to swallow - try to rack up as many rings as possible and you’ll have long term fans that will keep the team ticking along for decades - just look at the lakers and C Bags.
