i agree. we did due diligence on russ trades, and nothing good materialized. we didn't get hoodwinked, we have better players on the roster than we did last year, and we actually have a lot of flexibility for in-season trades and future offseason moves.

i don't know if people really expected us to go from full-on dumpster fire to contenders in one summer, but i didn't.

The difficult part of our season was how the media turned on us and tried to turn the fans against the team and get our management to implode.

There was a significant amount of pressure to deal Russ (a large expiring) and two of the most valuables picks in the league for a bag of chips and a cup of coffee. Our front office resisted and many fans weren’t happy about that, and many still aren’t.

That’s what makes it a difficult off-season. We still don’t have stability to relax and I think management, the coaching staff and the players all understand this.

Hey I get it.. last season sucked, the previous one did too IMO. I'm hoping for better health from our main guys, and some energy and effort from these kids. I'm optimistic so far. I think we are going to be a lot better than the pundits predicted.

The media has a love/hate relationship with the Lakers, Lebron, Russ and if AD gets off to a shaky start, they are going to be all over him too. It is what it is, US against the World.

    What went wrong this summer:
Russ is still here and everyone is pretending (for now) that all the mess (destroyed chemistry between “The Big Three”) is suddenly gone with the summer breeze.
Rob did not address one of our major roster holes: shooting.

Well you just go ahead and keep that negative energy then. There is no chemistry to be had playing in 21 out of 82 games IMO. We shall soon see what's what.

I don’t think anyone is pretending that chemistry issues are gone. It’s just realizing that there were no deals that would have helped in the short term or long run since the league’s asking price was absurd. All parties decided the best route was to run it back, try to make it work, and revisit deals at the deadline or see if health can make us at least be respectable.

and it’s been asked numerous times, where are these 3&D guys that were going to the Lakers for peanuts?

There's nothing we can do about that, except complaining. And we all complained enough... it's just not interesting anymore. What's done is done, moving on.

I’m not the one who brought the negative attitude all season long to the Lakers- your boy Westbrick did that all by himself.
As for your worn out excuse for everything- I’m not buying it because it doesn’t work as an explanation for EVERYTHING. Westbrick Chose to be a selfish pr!ck all year long on defense and in is exit interview as well.

    Someone brought it up.
    I didn’t.
    I only explained why.

Westbrook will be an unmitigated disaster. But the others have a chance to cancel him out if they actually play all year.

Just keep typing your same excuse for everything- maybe someday, you will find someone to agree with you. Again, I didn’t bring it up- just answered it. No catch up needed here.

Apparently, I’m not allowed to answer this honestly because it will be deemed to be “negative speech.”
I will just say that it’s hard to build a well rounded team when you wrap up all your money in three players. That’s not on me- that’s on the GM.

That’s my hope. Early buzz from camp seems positive. Team may be able to translate that to the games.

    "Contract/Career Year"

He can't afford to be an unmitigated disaster like last year. That does change the dynamic. Just sayin'.

You are absolutely allowed to speak honestly, regardless of positive or negative spins. Don’t feel pressured otherwise. Jeez we had LeftyMo over at Clublakers and he only posted something positive like once, lol.
