Ham is a bigger, bolder personality, no doubt. But It definitely helps on the initial buy in when the message is coming from a guy who's done it and played in the league.

It was man. We really were counting on Ariza to be a savior.

There was a report a couple of days ago with AD saying he had a unreported wrist injury all last year that was screwing up his shooting mechanics and that it is fully healed now. Let's hope that is the truth.

Of course I know that, it's just AD and his insistence on taking threes at an 18% clip that rattles me when he says that.

He shot poorly prior to this "wrist" injury. Why do players always have excuses? Just admit it was a terrible shooting year and improve!

Yeah he was 26% from 3 the prior season. It's pretty safe to say the man's shooting woes are more basic than a wrist injury.

You're right!! We should trade him, he is a bum!! While we are at it, we should send RW packing and force Jeannie to sell the team and get rid of Magic so he is not welcome in LA at all!!!

LA will be back on top!!!! Yay!!!!

lol, when did he not admit it was bad shooting? again, if you want to act like he's lying about a wrist injury, that's your deal. i choose to believe it and that it had an impact. the data support this. but if you want to commit to the "he's soft and sucks" narrative, nothing's going to stop you. the forum has proven that over time!

edit: here's a thought exercise. say AD doesn't disclose his injury right now, but shows up and shoots his standard 33% from three. then a reporter asks what he did, and he says "my wrist healed. it was injured last year." would people still be b****ing?

While I appreciate that Lakers fans have some takes that are NOT supportive of the team, the constant harping on all the negative BS is what drove me out of Lakersground. I see us starting to head in that direction and it sucks. Yes, things are not perfect but we still have some potential and WE ARE riding out Lebron's career. If you don't have it in you to be some kind of FAN: (<= look up definition), it is going to become the same drag here as it is on the OTHER sites. My suggestion is to be fair with your criticism, keep it analytical, don't harp on it and be a dang fan, instead of a sycophant. Just getting this off my chest, not pointing it at anyone specifically, just want to point out that when the tone of the site becomes mostly negative, it sucks to be involved from my perspective.

    Tada!!

yeah, i have plenty of negative opinions about the lakers, but that's not the only thing i'll talk about here. nobody is interested in that. if you want kindred spirits, go post intensely negative laker opinions on literally any other platform. you'll be welcomed and trumpeted!

I agree with the sentiment. It’s not fun to read doom and gloom post after post.

Some people read this kind of thing as requesting you never post anything negative, or can’t give your real opinion, but that’s not it. There comes a point where you’ve vented (abstract you, not you Wino) and it’s been heard if not agreed with. Nobody wants to read the same thing over and over.

That said we’re not regulating any opinions unless you’re disrupting discussions with how you’re expressing it.

My thought on commentary in general is that extremes in either direction aren't good. Yes, posts that are just doom and gloom can get old real quick.

However, posts that are basically just dipping heads in the sand and ignoring an issue, no matter how obvious it is, also gets old and can be equally as annoying in my opinion.

Neither produces good comments to me.

    Amazing post.

I'm glad I'm not the only one and felt reassured of the value of this board to the support and likes on that post. That's great

I don't find examples of the latter here. Pretty much all of us are aware of the question marks about this team and express it. But we try to see also what is improving in the team. We got Russ, it sucked in many ways and brought 2 impossible years to compete for the title. But it's done and we can only embrace it and move forward.
Everyone criticized Stan being added on the Pat Bev's deal. But some have also praised getting Jones and Bryant. I think that type of approach develops more interesting discussions than others.

You guys are all over a relatively new poster's sh!t for harping on AD's 3pt shot. Something that has been done widely by many people on the site. You have no reason not to believe that Henry_Hart doesn't think AD is one of the top few NBA players. He's bringing up a negative in AD's game that many people wish he would address, a long time ago. It's this kind of dogpile BS that runs people out of here as fast as they get here.
