Yeah, I like the team they've put together. This is a steal for them IMO

Why did either team do this? That's an odd trade.

    Guess it's Pacers or bust.

It goes against their youth movement, but I like this for the Pistons. They get a quality player for basically nothing IMO

Laker tax is absolutely real. Really gives some perspective on what Rob was dealing with this summer.

Even Jazz fans are perplexed by this Bogdanovic trade. Only joking explanation I read that could possibly make sense is that the Jazz help their tank by improving another lottery team in Detroit.

Couldn’t get a first (or ANY draft compensation) for Bogdanovic, had to get back a worse veteran player that doesn’t fit their timeline AND has an extra year on his contract. Reportedly can’t get a first for Clarkson or Conley either.

Ainge is going to REALLY regret not taking Russ and a single first for his roleplayers. (Although since Ainge is so in love with picks, almost makes me wonder if we were refusing to even part with a single FRP for the Utah deal.)

Lakers tax increases the need for a GM with good relationships around the league. Just can’t recall the Laker tax ever being mentioned with Mitch and certainly not with the logo.

i think ainge is the main factor here. not so much the lakers tax

guy hates the lakers and will try anything he can to screw them over. same reason why there's no point in trying to trade with indy as long as bird is in the GM's ear

Definitely think Ainge is a factor. That comment was my thoughts on the Laker tax in general

We have not heard much of the truth of what has happened here. Nobody is going to force someone out simply because they had sex with a staffer. It's one thing to slap their wrists and another thing to force him out for a year without pay. If they were both available, who frigging cares???? Rules are rules but the punishment seems too severe. Leaves me thinking there is something else going on here.
