LOL, I thought it was a interesting sequence of events that made for a funny meme, but I don’t think it actually means anything. Get some rest!

I'm always curious as to what would have been your plan. We were over the salary cap and couldn't S&T with anyone. Schroder had declined our offer. So how would you have done it differently, who do we sign? How.

he was my reclamation project of interest, but with our guard glut, it couldn't happen.

I assumed the same about the past two additions we made to our roster. Until all 15 spots are filled, there's still the threat of another 6-1 or 6-2 guard.

Hey Dennis said that he had been talking to the Lakers about this signing 3 months ago. Perhaps it's all part of some grand plan?

We run it back with KCP, Caruso, and Kuzma, AKA the guys who helped win us a ring. And we keep our pick.

OK..but what do you do at PG? We were over the cap and couldn't S&T for anybody in FA. Also those guys all layed a big egg during the Phoenix series, and we struggled to win games with them with AD and Lebron playing in 27 games. What makes you think that we would be any better with them playing in 21 games last season? I guess it's assumed that the Westbrook trade is why we could only sign vet mins and a mini MLE, but we would have been in the same situation anyway and still needed a PG.

Yes but we would have KCP, Kuz, THT and Caruso and probably a MLE getting more than the min. With Russ you only have one of those

How would the MLE get more than than the min? Running it back we would have had an even higher payroll. Who is the PG here? Caruso and THT? The problem scoring still exist with that scenario, now James and Davis play in less games over a longer season. We probably play better defense, but you still have to be able to score in order to win games.

re-sign schroder at slightly over the mini-mle after all the FA dust settled. still had mini mle for nunn, too. and the min for monk, if we wanted!

    schroder/caruso
    kcp/nunn and/or monk
    lebron/kuz/melo
    AD/kuz/melo
    howard/harrell

it's a better team, but more importantly, it would have allowed us a ton of flexibility with trades during the season and up until right now, tbh.

Based on reports, we already knew talks were dead but straight from the GM's mouth...

they're playing with fire, imo, but i suppose they have zero expectations for the next couple of years, so potentially squandering an asset isn't that big of a deal.

I'm not sure that's significantly much better, in essence we just added Nunn, Monk, Dwight and Melo. Nunn still doesn't play at all, if we already had THT, Nunn, Dennis, Caruso and KCP..do we still sign Malik? Would he have seen the opportunity to play here in the same way? It's hard to say. We are even smaller with Trez at 5 and Idk what Frank's problem with Dwight was really all about,Kuz would be better than Melo at 5 tho...I believe. I think they would have been maybe a few more games better possibly, but keeping the draft pick could have opened up better trade packages. I wonder who we would have drafted, based on that pick, do we still get Austin? It's fun to speculate but again, making some moves might have affected others.

They'll probably trade him to the Raptors at the deadline for Boucher and scraps.

Maybe nobody thought that Myles was worth a 1st round pick, or wanted any part of a package involving him and Hield?

It's curious that no other teams bit on these trade ideas that were considered reasonable for the Lakers either.
