Utah’s G-League team and the South Bay Lakers have finally agreed to a trade involving first round picks!

Russ has a persecution complex. Nothing is ever his fault. Woe is him. He says he always did what was asked of him. Do you think he was never asked to set screens? I’m sure he was but blew it off. I’m sure he was asked to take corner threes instead of some of those bricks he shots. He was asked to play defense which again he didn’t do.

Part of being professional is keeping things in house, regardless of whether it’s true or not. Russ certainly picks and chooses what information he wants to give out in that exit interview. Sorry he doesn’t get a pass from me.

Edit: Slick, you keep mentioning the Wizards turned down that trade twice, where are you getting that information?

He didn't deserve to have the ball cause he's trash with it.. Can't shoot, make layups, and has a high turnover rate. The ball belongs in the hands of everyone BUT him..

I saw some Instagram stories of him training while they were there. As well as what Ham said. I don’t think AD or Lebron have been in to the facility this summer, they’ve been doing there own thing, which obviously isn’t an issue.

We really don’t need another go around at dunking on Russ just because I mentioned that he has stayed professional with everything going on.

It’s ok to say he has been professional this off-season and still agree that he had a bad season last year. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

Yes he’s been profession during free agency with us trying to trade him. I think there was some squabbling during the Kyrie stuff though minor.

Most of the knockback is probably from Slick claiming he was professional last season which he was not.

The guy avg three 3pt shots a game, hit around 30% big deal, I can live with that.

Screens? I'm with you on that angle, it's an underrated part of the game. I really hope someone gets on AD'S a** too, about those fakes screens he likes to set.

The owner said so in an Athletic article. He said that he traded Russ, because he came to him personally, and asked for that trade.

Now, I'm not excusing Russ for everything he did, he could have played better, I agree, however I can understand his frustration on a couple of fronts.

Russ played D in spots, so did Lebron, so did most of the team, even AD. Being part of the crowd doesn't absolve his role in it, but this Russ and his defense stuff is obsessive around here, like he was the only one loafing around in that regard.

I just want to win..we need Russ to win big too.

Meh...The NBA isn't some kind of rec or semi- pro league dude. These are the best basketball players in the world.

18 pts, 7 assists and 7 rebs, aren't the kind of numbers, that any old player, can just go out and casually put up. If a guy can do that and be "terrible " he's only a few tweaks, some better schemes and teammates away from being excellent IMO.

I think he's going to ball out this season. It's great for the team if he does, that's the most important thing. I don't believe that Russell Westbrook has any delusions about being " the man" on this team.

If Russ does get traded he is likely getting bought out and that likely means taking a paycut.

Now he can recoup that with a small signing from somewhere, on a team that can utilize his strengths better as a primary ball-handling guard who is a horrible shooter and defender but could still have a few years left with this athleticism to put fans in the seats...

For the most part though a trade signals the end of anything remotely resembling half of what he is making now on future deals.

So of course he is going to play along and say the right things this offseason and even claim to "buy in" to Ham's magical putting a square peg into a round hole plan for him.

The true testament from him is if he is willing to change his game and find ways where he is helping the team and more importantly NOT HURTING THE TEAM when he is out there. That would mean unselfish play, likely limited minutes (unless he miraculously becomes a decent shooter for the first time in his career) and not being on the floor when the game ends.

    Could it happen? Sure.

    Will it? No...lol

Windy hears we're keeping the $47 million dollar man.

Time to fire Rob. AWFUL, inexcusable off-season with a misfit roster.

But, but, we got younger. Remember we were super old last year so all we needed to do was get younger. Just like how in ‘21 we couldn’t shoot so last offseason Rob signed a bunch of guys who could only shoot and not defend, create their own shot, and get that super cool senior discount all over town. Rob is the king of overcorrection, he’s working with grade school level logic here.

He couldn't even overcorrect properly. Based on pattern he should've gotten us a long of young, tall defenders who can't do anything else. But since Klutch doesn't like those guys, we don't like those guys.

Once again we have a bunch of undersized players. Square pegs and round holes. No defense. No shooting. No chance.

I was hoping that with his life on the line, he would have the best off-season of his life. Nope. In a vacuum, his signings are good. It's when you try to build a roster and fill out a depth chart that his skills really are put to shame.

That's a rather ambiguous statement "hurting the team".. This dude is a first ballot HOF..OK..This is going to be my last Russ comment of the night.

Russ did make adjustments to his game here, the whole thing in general just went left.

He's a turnover machine! He avg less turnovers per game, than he had in the last 8 seasons.

He shoots too many 3's!! He avg the lowest 3pt attempts per game, than he had over his last 10 seasons.

The guy avg 47% from inside the arc for his career, he shot 48% last season. The third highest pct of his entire career.

He still played over 34 minutes a game like he had in the 8 seasons previously. His career avg is 34.7 minutes per game .

He's played in over 90% of his team's games 7 years straight.

The can't, won't, has no intention to ever, adjust stuff is overblown.

He needs to tighten up on those FT tho. He was once an 80% guy from the stripe, 84% in 2016, now he's been mid 60's for 3 out of the last 4 seasons. Unacceptable for a PG.

That's not washed up IMO. That's not all "Just doing what I've always done" either.

Undersized? I mean where? What positions are you taking about? I keep hearing this but..we have James, Gabriel, Jones, AD, Bryant, Huff, Swider...all 6'9 or better. KCP and Caruso are 6'5 for instance, Brown 6'6 and Reaves 6'5, JTA is 6'7. Russ is a big PG at 6'3 and Walker is 6'4. Why is this team undersized? What exactly do you want?

I don't love it, but I see a team that would beat our a** last year.
It's far from a contender team but would definitely better to watch than last year

I still think it is a huge fail to roll with Russ. But if it means better for our future, so be it

Weirdly I’m at piece with not trading WB. I didn’t think most of the trades being proposed moved the needle much, so I think I’d rather call this season a loss and have Russ’s money in cap space next season and hopefully keep flexibility until we can sign a few good players.

With that said, I think I’m more mad at sighting Beverly, the player I hate more than anyone else in the NBA, for absolutely no reason

The Lakers are lucky I’m a fan for life and while my love is being tested, it would take a lot more for me to stop being a fan.
