I hope he works out, we need SF's, we need guys that can shoot, play D, that are cheap, and we need Wes Johnson GONE. Nothing wrong with taking a senior who has had much time to develop his game, that used to be a good thing and not a strike against you.
Amen to that. I had to sit and hear Mason and Ireland talk about Wesley's strengths as a basketball player; they were advocating his return to the team. I think Wesley will be playing in the Chinese League sooner or later...
I am grateful to Wes for blowing at least 2 or 3 games for us single-handedly late in the season though with turnovers and boneheaded plays. Those losses night have gotten us the 2nd pick, so, thanks Wes, and there's the exit door!
I totally agree with people under-valuing Seniors. It's almost a crime for some of these kids to wait that long. Since when did player development stop at the age of 23?
Thanks for posting that! I'll be honest I haven't looked into this kid too much. I've been catching up on Nance and Russell. He looks a LOT like James Jones just in those clips. The high release, the lanky arms... I heard that comparison on draft night and it really looks like a decent one in terms of his shooting ability and form.
I got a great vibe from him during his presser. I thought he was the most well-spoken of the group. I have a feeling and hope he will be great for us.
Can he just move his address to the corners or the wing? His height compared with his form on his shot is near as perfect as you can get. DAR rifling passes to him at 40 MPH and Brown just easily shoots over the top of the defense. There is so much to be excited for, for summer league. It's like a kid trying to decide which present to open up first.
He was projected at 27 by Draft Express, but we took Nance there, funny how things work out.His head is on straight, has talent, looks athletic, and best of all he's local, knows how important it is to wear the Purple and Gold in So Cal. He may be a steal, just like Clarkson
This guy is growing on me too. What a sweet release up high. Seems like he is the real deal on offense at least.
