The only thing I think I would change (and it's really not a big change) is Sacre is gone and replaced by KJ McDaniels. 6 bigs is enough. I think we need some extra wings when you consider Kobe will likely be out for the season by game 40.

    Russell/Watson
    Clarkson/KJ McDaniels/J. Brown
    Kobe/Swaggy Pee/A. Brown
    Randle/Black/Nance/Kelly
    Jordan/Black/Upshaw

I was against getting DeAndre Jordan before the draft but now that the Lottery center dream has been shattered, he might be my priority signing now. He is offensively inept and automatically hackable but he rebounds and blocks like crazy plus no off court issues.

I was on the same boat but the way our roster looks hes a better fit than lamarcus

My first choice would be marc but thats a pipe dream

Deandre plays good D and rebounds like crazy and he can get his points off putbacks and russ feeding him a few oops every game

So now we all of a sudden want to be the Junior Clippers? We're down to max out a one way player to pair up with our little Chris Paul in Russell and our mini-Biff in Randle and basically be strapped after that? I don't know. I like the old days where the guys across the hall were happy to get our cast-offs. Now it seems like we are aping them.

I'm ok I guess with Jordan but not as a first option for a pick up. I'd rather have LMA all the way. But I don't think he's a sure thing at all considering he has San Antonio as his number one choice and us as second.

I wish many here, not just you SG, would back off this supposed "given" about Kobe so much around here. [IMG]

I mean we kind of sealed our fate that way didn't we? We drafted Russell. We need a guy who will make up for our perimeter defense, go get rebounds, and not complain about touches. I've mocked Jordan as much as you have. I think he's a sack of bricks. But as far as free agent big men go, who else is even capable of a 20/20 game with 2-3 blocks?

Marc is by far my favorite choice but he is unlikely to come. Aldridge is my second because while I believe the young guys will need the help scoring at first. But Aldridge would have to be our Center and he's a poor fit around the rim as a Center...

Jordan is unfortunately our best fit. Yeah we're becoming CLakers but we'd presumably have better versions of Paul and Biff and of course we'd have Clarkson which is better than any 4th guy they have.

we wont be strapped because the cap goes up after next season and kobe will be off the books

deandre will be the only one thats getting paid, we can prob max out 2 other FA

i was good with lamarcus but his age (30) and not wanting to play C worries me

believe it or not i was not high on deandre until i realized how our team is built

    russ
    clarkson
    kobe
    randle
    C

you plug deandre into that rotation and he fits like a glove.

    plays D..check
    rebounds...check
doesnt need the ball in his hands to be productive?..check

he'll most likely be getting most of his buckets off putbacks and when russ feeds it to him and if we keep upshaw we have a good team of defensive centers

i was weary of giving him the max but he fills a need and is only 26, we'd be paying for his prime years.

what does who we get in free agency have anything to do with how our draft picks turn out to be talent wise.

I mean I can think of one way but its really beside the point

Well said. We won't be cash strapped like the Clippers because our guys are still cost controlled. We could add a Durant, Westbrook, or DeRozan with our budding young core.

Man I really don't want Jordan, especially for max money if we're talking $19/$20 mil here. Such a liability on offense if he isn't being spoon fed and at the FT line. Here's praying for Gasol or Aldride . Heck I might be happier with some seviceable C like Koufos, Asik, or Robin Lopez. I might even prefer Monroe, I hate DeAndre Jordan.

Edit: I'll add that the only real thing that would make me happy about signing Jordan would be making the Clippers worse and hearing their fans cry and freak out about it. But then they'd probably go and sign Aldridge and I'd be immediately pissed again.

Same here. I like Jordan and I think he has improved every single season.

But, I just like Aldridge more. If our salary cap situation allows this, I'd rather get LMA and a decent center like Robin Lopez than Jordan + whoever.

agree with @therealdeal intentional or not we have patterned our roster to our lesser neighbor. So hate him (I do, from his no Bball IQ to his indescribable mug) all you like but he is the most fitting FA for our roster. I still believe he is a CPFlop creation but if DAR Is what the FO think he is, he won't be so bad in offense.

As far as I'm concerned, they're the ones that copied us... stealing Paul after Stern cheated us.

Do we all want to watch Jordan miss 20 Fts in big games? Then be benched when we need him most as he collects his max contract? Unwatchable garbage...What's the deal with Noah?, he's a FA.

I think Noah is a free agent the following season. Unfortunately, Thibs ran him into the ground. :(.

One of the Lopez Bros or Koufas is who I'd go get to fill the 5...they got to get a legitimate center to allow these young guys to grow.. Tyson Chandler maybe...but he's on his down side big time

I like Robin. I mentioned him today. The frontrunners to sign Brook is Brooklyn according to Woj. Portland just signed Mason Plumlee. Plus, they have another big man. I'd go after Robin.

I agree, Robin Lopez is a poor mans Noah, full of hustle, solid rim protection, good in P&R D, sets great screens...Lilliard will miss him badly, and shoots a respectable % at the line.
