agree. it said "another key jazz player". what if it was bev/bogdanovic/reddish, and both picks were top-10 protected? suddenly, you have three rotation quality players in place of a guy who was a net negative AND they all expire this year, so if we need to dramatically rebuild via FA, that route is still open. it's not the worst i've seen.

    buried in there was this:

this is what i want. knock a pick off our outgoing, and make it conley/bogdanovic/reddish for russ/top-10 protected 1st. that's a huge win for me. conley was quietly much better than people said last year, and there's just no reason for him to be in utah.

re: eric gordon: while i agree with what the article states about houston's stance, he's been injury-prone throughout his career, and if he goes down, his value is gone to contenders. houston should think hard about extracting value while they can. yes, they could rob a desperate team at the deadline (see: us), but they could also just be left with nada.

That's the best trade for me, I would even give the pick unprotected.
We absolutely need to be talking with Utah GM 1sec after Donovan deal is done. If we can get on that trade, even better. Utah after trading Mitchell will be starving for Russ, it fits their plan perfectly.
Conley, Bogdan, Pat, Clarkson and Beasley would all be GREAT addition to this squad. Straight up in our best 5

    Conley
    Reaves
    Bogdan
    LeBron
    AD

That's a great lineup if our superstars are playing at star level

Right. We have to add shooters or this season’s already over.

Yeah. That Conley deal would be great. Improves us and we still have assets for another move down the road.

I'm waiting on the insider here to tell me that those trade talks happened awhile ago and give me more general insight.

Conley needs to headline whatever trade we do with Utah. He’s the biggest difference maker that we can theoretically get at the moment.

I agree with the posters here, any deal with Utah should at a minimum of Conley coming to LA.

i believe Conley’s contract is only partially guaranteed for next season, and is reasonably priced for this season at $22.6 million. He’s basically making Buddy Hield money, but has a shorter contract, and would be a excellent fit with AD/Lebron.

He’s had some minor injuries over the past few seasons but nothing career threatening. He played in 72 games last season.

To me, in terms of impact/salary/fit, he’s like as if we got Kyle Lowry but he’s actually younger.

If we somehow get Bogdanovic and Reddish as well for Westbrook and picks, we can contend provided Lebron and AD stay healthy.

The staying healthy disclaimer basically applies for any trade we do anyway, regardless if it’s for Kyrie, Hield/Turner, etc.

The Lakers just have to play the hand they are dealt and see where the chips fall in that regard.

The Nets social media posting about Kyrie, Kyrie retweeting it.

Apparently according to Nets fans this is the first time the Nets social medias have posted Kyrie since the season ended.

There also was allegedly supposed to be a meeting between KD and Tsai this week.

Wonder if this is a sign that the Nets have hashed things out and everyone is on board with running it back.

Given how mercurial Kyrie is nothing would really surprise me.

One potential outcome for the Nets is that they end up conceding and giving Kyrie the contract he wants. It’s possible if they value KD being there long term and doing whatever it takes to keep him happy there.

has always been a possibility and another reason i wasn't crazy about going whole hog after him. though again it seems like we never really even got to the serious offer stage because the nets told us they wanted nothing we had.

Seems like damage control on both sides now. Probably couldn’t find a deal for KD.

their asking price was insane, and i think they'll end up regretting not coming down on the ask for both. so weird that they got very little for harden after giving up quite a bit, then turn around and ask the moon for kd and kyrie when they gave up basically nothing to get them.

i do think that if things broke perfectly for them next year, they could certainly contend, but given kd's age/health and kyrie's physical and mental health, it's just pretty unlikely. everyone trumpets that we're in disarray (which we are), but it's no different over there.

Kyrie Irving and another shooter or two is the move for me. The Nets can blow smoke all they want now, once the season starts, and New York keeps that Covid vaccine mandate in place, watch how quickly the tune changes on a Kyrie reconciliation. We should hold firm, Conley, Reddish..meh..that's not as good as Hield/Turner IMO. No to two First round picks either way.

hield/turner isn't a thing because they want two picks (and even then, i could see pritchard pulling some s*** after a deal is agreed to in principle).

utah can't move conley easily, and my guess is he will ask out before the season starts assuming mitchell is dealt. one first for conley/bogdanovic is the way to go. massive improvement.

Indiana isn't getting two picks for Hield and Turner from anybody. That's posturing. Conley and Bogdonavic doesn't move the needle as much as the Pacers trade idea. Kyrie can put up 40 plus in a Finals game, that's a rare talent. He's my top priority if I'm Rob.

yeah, we're not getting kyrie. and KD isn't going anywhere either, probably because minny completely ruined any chance of that with the ridiculous package they traded for gobert

    we're stuck with russ
