he's a FA after next season and there's zero chance he re-signs there unless KD also returns

if he's not traded this offseason he'll be dealt sometime during next season. the nets aren't just going to let him walk

Notice how as we approach the 8 week mark before training camp starts, news starts to pick up again. Pelinka and LAL are well aware of these milestones and will be ready to act when the opportunity is right. Do note that while our negotiating position does not seem very strong, all trades are two sided, and many teams will continue to reach out to incorporate us into future deals to increase flexibility. After all, as the number of potential partners dwindles, we begin to seem more attractive.

Stay patient! Our time will come!!!

I think I'm coming around to preferring Hield/Turner over Kyrie as well. Turner-AD is a perfect fit on both sides of the court, I think it could really put AD and LeBron in much better positions to succeed than last year. Also, I think an underrated benefit of a Hield/Turner trade is it gives THT a much better chance to succeed. As a secondary ball-handler with Hield and Turner opening up the floor, I think we see a much better year out of THT. If that happens, we could even revisit a Kyrie trade during the season for THT/Hield. I say add both picks with some protection and get it done now.

Shams followed that with “But again, that doesn’t stop Brooklyn, if they find a deal for KD before the season, could they then pivot and look to move Kyrie Irving? For sure, anything is possible. The price tag on a move like that would probably be a first round pick, or multiple first round pick type assets. I don’t think they’re just going to be giving away Kyrie for a second rounder”.

So this aggregated quote from Shams about Kyrie wanting to stay in Brooklyn, I don’t think means anything at all.

I think that’s the public stance from Kyrie’s camp because they don’t want to continue the optics that Kyrie is a toxic player who will force his way out. If things with the Lakers fall through, it’s in his best interest to play out the year in Brooklyn as a good teammate and maximize his value in free agency next summer. If he were to publicly demand his way to LA, but then it didn’t pan out and he pouted through this season, wouldn’t be a good look for him in free agency.

This is old news from when Irving opted in! There are no new developments on this front as far as I know. Beware of the recycled news with clickbait headlines!!!

Yep. I'd be willing to include the 27 pick if I were Rob if we were getting quality pieces back...

Yep, Turner and Hield for Russ and the 27 FRP is fair. Not happening right now with Indy though so I guess we wait to see what else develops. Donovan Mitchell might move before KD and open something up with Utah that won’t cost two FRP’s or if it does yields more return.

How does that work? Does it nullify the 2 way he signed with us?

Welp there he goes. We weren't going to keep him on South Bay I guess.

Nah he didn't have a 2 way. Apparently not even a one way to South Bay.

I think in a couple of years we may wish we'd have had a little more foresight. Then again our SCOUTS and evaluators. Hard to b**** at them.

The Ignite isn't attached to an NBA franchise apparently though. Maybe this is a way to get him more playing time and development and hopefully keep an eye on him with a wink wink he talk to us first if an NBA team offers something? Doubt it though.
