Westbrook has scared teams off of PGs who can't shoot the 3. Dennis Schroder, Eric Bledsoe both suck from 3, both have no team.

Surprised Juancho Hernangomez is still available. He’s a 26 year old stretch four, figured he would have the skill set to be a solid role player at the minimum for a lot of teams.

 

this is how most folks retire, really, right? amongst the olds, it highlights how much you can't play terrible defenders anymore. hiding melo or blake griffin or lamarcus aldridge is a task. decent chance a lot of these guys are picked up during the season, though, as injuries happen.

whiteside must be a real headcase/handful off the court--because he's been generally productive and a plus player in most stops (really everywhere but sac) and in non-trivial roles. again, in a league where rudy gobert is a supermax, is whiteside really unplayable?

trez must be in a similar boat.

i know schroder's a punching bag here for good reason, but he's a solid backup pg still, imo. he's always been miscast as a starter, and it's hurt his image (and his career decisions).

anyway, i wouldn't give them two 1sts for this. they can kick rocks with the rest of them.

myles turner is a UFA next year. if we want him, we'll have cap space and can sign him whilst giving up nothing. and they can keep paying hield for no reason whatsoever.

 

yep. good. it better be an obvious large upgrade if we've got unprotected 1sts 7 years into the future going out. teams are just trying to milk us.

Feels like the lack of interest in Russ is pretty legit though. Hopefully this really is just gamesmanship.

 

btw, that was an indy source on those trade talks, so they were probably quite real and probably did come down to indy trying to get two 1sts out of us. the leak serves two purposes: warning shot to bkn re: kyrie for us, trying to set the price for turner for indy.

i maintain that one first is the best they'll do for turner, who, again, is a UFA next year that is likely walking for nothing.

 

Good to know Turner is also involved
