He can win 5 more titles, he will never be better individually than MJ and Kobe. Those two are the greatest skilled basketball players in basketball history. End of story.

 

I don't know why people think Derozan was a thing. He would not take the mle and we would have had to hard cap ourselves to do a sign and trade. That means we'd still have to sign a bunch of scrubs to fill out our roster and we'd still have lost Schroder and Caruso for nothing.

The only option that we passed up on that was realistic is Buddy Hield for Kuzma and Harrell. We could have re-signed Caruso with his bird right and kept KCP and even Schroder if we wanted to.

 

The Derozan thing came from him and Lowry both saying they wouldn’t mind teaming up again “perhaps maybe in LA?”. Also I think Lebron reached out to him over the summer before free agency.

The Hield trade was a real thing. Like a trade was already agreed upon but the last minute Lebron told Westbrook to go to the Wizards owner and ask for a trade to LA. I remember Kuz came out and said he was already packing for Sac before he was told about the trade for Westbrook

 

Yes that's what I recall. We had Hield locked up but then went with Westbrook out of no where.

I don't think many of us thought the Demar thing would happen. I didn't but not just for the salary cap reasons. I just don't believe anything involving us and the Spurs until it actually happens.

but letting caruso walk and not even pursuing any s&t options with schroder to recoup some value there both stung for me and were purely financial moves created by the russ contract absorption.
