I would feel the exact same way ***IF*** LBJ was 27 instead of 37.

Then, it's a totally different conversation. Why? You would have the next 7-8 years of competing at a high level and championship-level contention with him.

At 37? I'm playing hardball, and I'm more than willing to not make a deal for Kyrie. If they included jeopardizing my relationship with Klutch, than I'll take my chances.

The viability and health of the Lakers long-term is much more important to me than to get hoodwinked into a deal with albeit superior talent but mercurial person in Kyrie who can retire in 2 years.

    That's what I'm at.

Agreed 100%. Especially considering the fact that trading for Kyrie would be part of cleaning up the mess we're in BECAUSE OF BRON! He wanted Russ on this team because he doesn't value role players enough and he never has. Going all in on the next "superstar" no matter the cost is classic Bron.

He should take less, because he rarely plays defense anymore.

I won't elaborate anymore on the issue, but the sooner he is gone, the better.

That’s not my point. It’s about team building and being able to add depth. I’ve already seen how this flick turns out.

Yeah, I don’t agree with appeasing players who only can play half the game anymore.

"You know, the thing about this franchise is that you shouldn't need recruiting to come in it," Bryant said. "It takes a special person to want to play for this franchise, and take the pressure that comes along with playing for this franchise. The pressure of following Magic [Johnson]'s footsteps, myself and the dynasty that we've had, it takes a special person to do that.

"And if I need to convince you come here, to carry that legacy forward, then you ain't the one to be it."

yeah, again windy making sense. lebron's threat to walk just...isn't a huge threat right now, tbh. he's no longer worth 50 million. if mortgaging the future for kyrie to clean up the mistake we made at his urging is the price of his interest in continuing here, i'm out.

rob should (and may have already) draw a line and say here's where i'm willing to go, and call me pretty much any time if you change your mind. otherwise, lebron has to roll with the guy he begged for last time. and they can both stroll into FA next year without us batting an eyelash.

bkn, on the other hand, would be in deep s*** if kyrie just walked next year after everything they did to get him there. if they can offload a salary and gather a protected first, they should jump at it. i might enjoy it if i found out we didn't even go that far in negotiations. i'd feel better about the future, tbh.
