was just going to post in the nba thread that a siakam-based deal makes a lot of sense given how hard any phx deal will be.

siakam/trent/tonapicks for kd/harris keeps bkn competitive and helps replenish the draft stash.

and this is self-serving, but if they then move for russ, they can just start him:

    claxton
    siakam
    trent/warren
    oneal
    russ

if things go poorly, russ can be moved at the height of his value at the deadline.

oh, and the above assumes simmons is moving (i would not be at all surprised if he's rerouted, tbh).

Nets are probably asking for Barnes to be included… Siakam, OG and picks should get it done tbh

but yeah, Nets have been reported to want players back in a KD trade, Raptors might have the best bunch thats tradeable

and the raptors can afford it, too. phx would have to gut the whole roster, pretty much, leaving them in our boat, really. and that's IF you can figure out something complicated with ayton's RFA/BYC issues.

i'm still interested in where simmons might be going.

I think the Nets want to trade with us, but until KD’s deal is done, they simply don’t know which one of their players goes out with Kyrie. I mean, it’s possible. Maybe we do have a general agreement about Kyrie-Russ trade and are simply waiting.

Our offer sounds reasonable. Nets are overplaying their hand. We will see what happens but I am leaning into the camp that thinks the KD deal has to at least be agreed upon first.

Exactly, they can afford the gamble.

Lets say its Siakam and Trent/OG, they are still left with:

    FVV
    OG or Trent
    Barnes
    KD
    Boucher
with Thad Young and Otto Porter

Yeah even if its not verbal, Nets and Lakers both know Russ and Kyrie are going to be swapped in that trade. Its just a matter of finding out who else will be included, and that is something that would come into more focus after the KD trade. Until then there isn't really much to talk about.

Windhorst was the one guy saying the Nets drama was not over after Kyrie opted in. For whatever reason, he's had the scoop on this one.

ok...what's the thing you think he's saying that is logically or factually incorrect versus woj and shams just alternating days parroting negotiating positions?

bradley got a lot of s*** from people here last season but it was because vogel relied on him way more than he should have. when used correctly, bradley wasn't bad at all and i wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back for cheap off the bench

same goes for ellington if they're unable to bring in anyone better
