Man I miss this dude, he’s being disrespected too often lately, you know partly because he’s not here to defend himself and his place
And I still remember some top 10 highlights of the week or even day that had those plays only at the 10-6 range or so. He didn't have the hands or leaping ability of MJ, but yeah, as skilled as MJ was (he was incredibly skilled), Kobe was unmatched. He was able to find a shot in situations nobody else could even dream of finding one.
right? imagine if any of today's stars made a single one of those moves in a game right now. we wouldn't hear the end of it. luka's the only guy who gets close, imo.
Yea his footwork was really something to witness.. even 'til the day he retired. People always talk about him emulating Jordan, but they only talk about the turn arounds and some flashy plays, it's the footwork that was so similar and even refined in some situations.. it will always separate those guys from the rest. You see the new age players partying on 50 million $ yachts and 'taking time away from the game' Kobe was visiting Hakeem and refining his footwork even in his prime when he had nothing else to prove.
he was built different. it had its pluses and minuses, but he was underappreciated as a player in his prime. just a complete shame that the press couldn't get over jordan enough to respect what kobe brought.
I debate basketball a lot. Stats come into it for obvious reasons. I just tell people that "I know what I saw". He was far different. I've watched a lot of basketball and that dude was obsessed beyond comprehension. Ultimate respond my end
I’ve come across and posted on LB epic accounts and reads of the impressions 17 year old Kobe Bryant left on both the Lakers and Clippers people who were at his private workouts for both teams prior to the draft. Absolutely blown away by what they were seeing ….. with West famously quoted as something like, “I’ve seen enough, he’s better than anyone we have on the team.” Same with Clippers people who were present at their’s, blown away. They had the 7th pick, before the Lakers had Charlotte pick Kobe at 13. Rest is history … of course they “CLIPPED” https://bolavip.com/en/nba/kobe-bry...raft-him-and-its-hilarious-20210814-0002.html
an even more likely scenario but I was thinking only of "The greatest Laker ever" part. Some say Magic, but when she dropped "team" in there, and still says Kobe, ouch!
