Anyone know if Toronto has more than that to dangle at him to convince him to stay in a frigid winter environment, and maybe forget Magic was an idiot at the time shipping off or letting walk every decent big man we had?

Otto Porter took part of their full mle. I think they still have the bi annual exception?

So far, we're a play-in team and a first round exit.

it's funny--i agree that that's about where we're at. but we have a better team on paper than we did to start last year, when we were supposedly a contender. just shows what kind of a season russ had.

Unless something changes with trades in the next week or so, I’d say we are a worse team due to the loss of Monk alone.

    Monk > Walker
    Melo > Troy Brown Jr
    Bazemore < Toscano
    Howard < Jones

The roster is very much an incomplete grade at this point. Strange choice in the case of Walker in particular. Not sure why we were in such a hurry to use our MLE on him. I’m glad to have Jones back and Toscano for vets minimums. Sucks to lose Monk.

It hurts me to say this (a lot), but the moves the Boston C Bags made this past week have them truly 10 deep in the rotation, all with very good players that understand their roles.

Tatum, Brown, Horford, Smart, White, Williams, Grant, Pritchard, and now Brogdon and Gallinari.

Any one of their 5-10 best players would start for this Lakers squad and we would be thrilled.

    I’m envious.

That's about where I have us and with good health.

With Kyrie and his head on straight, we're a contender.

But as it stands, we need a big season and health from AD and LBJ.

yeah agree with all that. i think lebron took a step back last year, so we no longer have a top-5 player on the roster. but if irving came (and all three played), that's a lot of talent that should be in the mix (i'd still have gs and the clips over us in the conference, though).

if we have to go in with russ, even with good health we're fighting at the bottom of the playoff picture.

    Possibly GS and Clips, yes.

GS lost wing depth and that hurts, but they have Kuminga and Wiseman coming back.

Clips on paper seem very good but PG and Kawhi always seemingly get hurt, too.

    But I agree.

clips on paper are nearly unbeatable, but yeah, i'll believe a full kawhi/PG playoffs when i see it.

that said, with all the wings, all they need is kawhi, really.

Yah, Clippers in the Finals, when hair grows on top of Michael Jordan's head.

Not if Westbrook is back. It would be a redux.

Then LeBron can declare himself the undisputed king cuz he let a sorry Azz roster to a play-in.

I seriously doubt he feels good about the play in if it’s as far as we get, but you know that and your dislike of the guy has you OK with saying pretty nonsensical things. Hey … whatever floats your boat.

My worry with that this roster is who will be the alpha dog player who will hold everyone accountable?
