Very curious to see what they do with Collins now. Little surprised they didn't loop in a 3rd team in this thing. I get both sides are ready to move on, but most of the packages for him are underwhelming. Do they try to lump him + and one of the young guards for a good SF? That'd be my move. Trae is close with Capela and Onyeka Okongwu seems like he might be ready for his next progressive step. That covers the front court.

Nope. He's the definition of high risk/ high reward. I'd still rather gamble a min contract on him, instead of forking over 60 million for two seasons to Gordon Hayward.

Gallinari is getting waived. He is past his prime but at least can provide elite shooting from three and ft line and is 6'10

but do you get to remove a troublesome growth with a vet min on warren? also, warren's not likely for the min. also, post-injury hayward was still better than pre-injury warren, which seems lost on folks.

i don't think we have use for him. i mean, for the minimum, he's melo. but we have melo if we want him, i think.

I'd take him over Melo asap.

I agree that we have no use for both of them. I'm saying we should choose Gallinari over Melo. Gallinari is better as a role player. He routinely has a TS of 60% even as he advances in age. He's much more efficient and a slightly better defender.

Melo iso's and takes too many stupid midrange fadeaways that kill the offense. He still has that "star" in him. Last year was his only efficient offensive year since 2013-2014. He just tries to do too much offensively. Gallinari shoots threes and free-throws better and has a much higher foul draw rate. He's just better for what we need.

Because you are overly obsessed with Russell Westbrook. A dude on an expiring contract. I don't know about the comparison. Hayward was a high end talent until that injury. I don't think he will be the same. He hasn't been close to that guy in Utah since. Warren was a solid player, he took off and elevated during the bubble season. I'm not sure what you know about him but he was considered a top mid range scorer, tough cover one on one, he was also considered a solid defensive wing. He stayed hurt though.

That guy can ball but he comes with a risk involved, just like Hayward. I'd rather gamble a little bit of money on him, than 30 million per on Gordon. Both might not make it through the campaign.

I saw Melo conceding lay ups to many times, I rather look into another direction. Lakers need more grinders.

Gallinari is a good pickup, he can give much the same Otto Porter Jr did. I’d still bring back Melo too. Both can flat out shoot the ball and aren’t small.

Danilo is 33 and should have more left in the tank than a 38 year old Melo.

Warren is the unicorn of this off-season. He may be done as a player similar to Danny Granger after his big injury.

However, if he comes back from an injury that normally doesn’t rob people of their athleticism, we have a 20 pt scorer who can score from the FT, from mid range and from 3. He was also a much improved defender in the bubble season. He is a 3rd best player on a championship team level talent.

Realistically, he has the highest upside of any mMLE candidate and fixes one of our two pressing needs a large SG who can defend big wings and hit the 3 at 40%.

The other big need is a Center that can stretch the floor and sure up the defence. We have THT, Nunn, Gabriel and 2 firsts to do something there. That’s 17m in salary that can bring up to 21.5m back.

The alternative option that solves our problems is OG/Trent Jr as a trade candidate and Bamba as an mMLE candidate.

my point is that the guy he's been since is better than warren and has actually played MORE! plus subtracting a negative = positive.

the mavs got better when they moved porzingis (who was producing more than russ did for us, btw) for a couple of "bad" longer-term deals. some guys just suck the life out of things. and anyone who's lived and worked knows this. russ was that last year.

right? nobody wants monk cuz defense. but gallinari is a big get. grass greenness.

The guy he's been was not better than the last we saw of Warren. That is not correct. Granted Hayward has at least played in the last two seasons but he hasn't made it past the All Star break either. 60 million vs a 10th of that or less? I'm rolling with Warren and maybe use Russ for some other move later.

If James and Davis only play in 21 games, I still don't see how anyone is blaming Westbrook for this season. It's funny that his teammates haven't expressed these type of feelings about Westbrook. No one ever has anywhere, but for some reason that's his MO in the media and by some fans. It's the weirdest thing.

Come on man, Gallinari on a min is a win. We paid Bazemore and Ariza last season for crying out loud lol. You guys are a bit too pessimistic about everything . Every guy we sign is not supposed to be some kind of star caliber player. We are talking about vet minimums.

OK ladies and gents, it's FA Eve! What's your final realistic hopes/predictions for the Lakers that you want to push out into the universe?

I'm going to piece mine together based on Russ still being here. Too many variables to try to account for otherwise. Here's what I'm hoping for by the weekend based on need, market price, and realistic gets:

    AD/McGee/Dieng
    Bron/Kief/Gabriel
    Porter/Stan/House/Swider
    AR/THT/Christie
    Russ/Nunn/Carter/Pip Jr

    *new in bold
    *two way in red

Alternates: Boogie for Dieng. Josh Jackson for House. Rivers for Carter.

Hayward is Mitch Kupchak's curse and he is just dying to pass it on to Rob. We just get rid of Deng's mess and now we go back to being screwed for years by Mitch? Solid pass.
