Let's help Morey get the band back together again...

They've moved on to trying to trade Thybulle because no one would take Green + pick. According to Woj, the Thybulle + pick has been offered to everyone. How would Morey feel about getting a pick instead of giving one up?

Harris + Thybulle + Green (yuck) for Russ and a pick. We can quable over protection on it.

6ers save around $5m and don't lose a pick. That alone won't get them to Tucker, but they can remove a few cap holds and they'll get there + they come off Harris' deal.

Green is done, but I like Harris' fit here and the addition of Harris + Thybulle solves our wing issues.

dude is 38. That's a great deal for PJ Tucker. Kudos to him, but any team paying that will likely regret it by the end.

another year, another series of trades and FA signings negotiated illegally weeks in advance in plain sight. either enforce the rules or get rid of them.

If Batum is getting 10 million, I guess Hartenstein is the next guy on their roster I wouldn't mind picking up.

Some rumors from Hollinger's mock this morning at The Athletic

Turner to Charlotte is an option, which I'm guessing would involve some of the Charlotte players we would be after in a Russ deal. Don't like.

If Taj is a FA, I want to snag him. He's been on my list for what seems like a decade now.

    Taj is too old.

    We need YOUTH.

Don't care if they are end of the bench rotation players.

    Aim for youth.

yeah, i wanted taj the past couple of years, but i'm not sure he's got anything left at all.

we should offer hartenstein the full mini mle, i think. the clips can't match it. other teams might beat it, though. i don't think a lot of our wing targets will be available for that money, so we might as well get a passable center. if we can't get hartenstein, we can move to my standard dedmon/dieng vet min targets there.

clips are in the same position with him that we are with monk--because he was a one-year vet min, they basically can't pay him unless they use their exception.

Didn't Miami and the Bulls get pinched last year?

Yes but Lakers fans don't count that because it sounds better to say we were the only ones. Tehe.

Leverage. The fact that Woj has zero sourcing with the Lakers doesn't help the believability here. Would rather hear an update from Shams or Haynes on the matter. It is absolutely true that even if Kyrie takes our mini mid, he could make up the rest by being in LA. Bron isn't the polarizing person that Kyrie is, neither is AD, but their opportunities have skyrocketed since their arrival.

If there is any possibility of that happening we are so damn lucky.

Haynes says we're one of the teams interested in Batum (as we should be)

Whenever he ends up, he's still getting nearly $9m from Charlotte next year.

Latest on Kyrie from Stein, including the news that he and Bron have recently spoke

Most likely to be traded this week: Collins and Brogdon

it's in batum's best interest to sign a long-term deal, as the charlotte money is (finally) drying up, and he's 33 with a history of injuries. my guess is the clips keep him on a 3-year deal just over mini mle.

Marc Stein also apparently mentioned in his Substack that there are “credible rumblings that Kyrie has had recent contact with Lebron, presumably to discuss a potential reunion” (although Stein sees it as a stretch).

The idea that Kyrie wants to leave Brooklyn because they are unwilling to give a max extension, so he’d come here for the mini-MLE (already a massive pay cut as is, but also would leave him without bird rights so we’d be unable to give him a big payday for several years) is insane. Although if there is anyone insane enough to do something like that just because they feel slighted by Brooklyn, it would be Kyrie.
