Bamba is a RFA, if he was allowed to walk for free then I would pursue him. We'd have competition for him Dallas and one of the New York teams get mentioned a lot. He's a New Yorker and played at Texas.

I'd sacrifice Gabriel in a minute for that deal. I'd still circle back to Jones, Javale or keep Dwight for a traditional rim protector

I’d trade THT and Gabriel for Wood. Gets us a stretch 5. Then try to get a 3 and d wing with the MLE. Hold on to Nunn as a backup Pg.

it would have to be lotto-protected and turn into 2 2nds after one year, imo.

Why would it not surprise me if we threw in Reaves if that was the deal breaker. Ugggh! Do better FO.

I’d throw Gabriel in no issues, if he is getting a lot of minutes we most probably suck again. I’d also throw in a protected first to make it happen.

Then we’d need to sign two of Warren, Oladipo, Otto Porter Jr, Ingles, Gary Harris, Danuel House.

That would be a pretty effective rebuild and mean we’d had 4 new rotation players: Nunn, Wood + 2 signees. This to go along with Lebron, AD, Russ, Stan, Reaves, Melo and Dwight.

Too late on Wood. Gone to the Mavs.

Great deal for the Mavs. I wasn't high on Wood compared to some of our other options (since we only have one swing at this) but if you're only giving up a late 1st this year and roster filler, that's a steal.

Wow, I hope we at least tried THT, Gabriel and a 1st. That’s a better offer then what they got from the Mavs. Damn!

On our end you have to take into account the Lakers tax. Nobody wants to help us, nobody wants to “lose” a trade with us, they all want to take us for all we have. Doesn’t help that Pelinka is not well liked either, or that he’s set a precedent of giving away draft picks like candy. Probably can’t put that toothpaste back in the tube now and suddenly try to play tough negotiator.

Great deal for the Mavs. A bunch of roster filler for a starting center they desperately needed.

That does leave just Raptors and Hornets as main competition for good centers.

Yeah I think after the reports of Hornets wanting to keep Hayward now, Orlando might be the best trading partner. They have cap space, they have a sizeable contract in Ross, and a bunch of decent young players that they are playing musical chairs with.

These days players seem to get traded for a lot less, than the " experts " and fans tend to think they will. Matching the salary seems to be the main thing. Like value is an added bonus I guess. Oh well, perhaps Turner will be a similar situation, we need another stretch 5 IMO, hopefully a young one.
