I hear you. He always carried this KG type attitude on the court...only thing he was lacking in comparison was Defensive Prowess, Offensive post ability, jump shooting ability, HOF career accolades, and championship pedigree. Aside from that he could have been an awesome 12th man on a championship team.

Trading the pick for Cousins is one of a handful of scenarios that would disappoint me. I'm good with any of the top 3 at this point.

Don't get me wrong. I'm being tough on Okafor but I understand what he can do. I certainly wouldn't be upset if we took him.

Has anyone mentioned yet that Kevin Ding has us taking Russell? Probably have but this thread moves so fast. I'm so confused right now. Okafor seems best, Russell is supposedly going to be a star, I have no clue what the Lakers are gonna do now.

^^^ This is why I wish Free Agency started before the Draft... Going Big or Small in the Draft depends on which FA you can get..

It was posted a couple pages back.

There are a lot of reports come out the wood work, even one from the reputable Ramona saying we held a private workout with Towns quietly.

Woj and Ramona has us with Okafor still. For now, take everything with a grain of salt and just hold your peace until the time comes.

It's pretty much understood at this point that Ding was used as a mouthpiece to try to scare Philly into trading up. Then Philly countered with an offer from Boston for the #3 pick just in case Okafor fell. Basically calling our bluff. If we take Russell, they'll trade for Smart and send Okafor to the C Bags... We ain't letting that happen!

Just about every mock draft has us going Okafor. I think that's where we end up.

^^ Seeing Mitch talk with Rick Fox on NBA TV pre-draft special pretty much confirmed to me that we're picking Okafor. I'm all good with that. I get the intrigue with Russell, but Okafor's just a more solid pick.

Ah, I see, I was late to all the crazy happenings and rumors and reports put out there to mess with other franchises today. Thanks for clearing that up guys. I still want Okafor, it's the safest pick to me. But if we take Russell, they must see something in him that separates him from the average guard, because you better if you take him over a 6-11 incredibly skilled big

It means what it means, another smokescreens.

Mitch is set on Okafor, throwing the Russell name out there to scare the Sixers into making a stupid move like giving up a draft pick, draft rights, or something like that.

Yeah I mean sounds like smoke to me she even said it in the post... Still though... It's going to be really really interesting. If they go Russell I wonder what happens here? I'm thinking the mood would be shocked and accepting?

If the go Okafor what's the mood like?

A Russell pick would definitely shock not only Laker fans expecting one of the bigs, but the rest of the draft scrambling to make moves to grab Okafor.

An Okafor pick would go as planned, a calming reaction of, "Okay, he was the right choice all along."

At this point I'm not mad at either, if we go Russell I believe Mitch must be really confident about landing a big in FA.

Honestly, if it's Okafor, I'll simply nod and simple say, 'we're back in business.' If it's Russell, I'll jump for joy and say, 'Mitch you have some brass ba**s

I would be... accepting of Russell being taken by us, but honestly a little disappointed inside. I personally don't see what separates Russell from a lot of other 6-5 guards, but I do instantly see what separates Okafor from most 6-11/7-footers today.
