In all fairness, LeGM earned half his salary, because he played on only half of the court, each and every time he was out there.

Yeah, it’s all on the injuries and Frank.
Now that we won’t have to deal with those ever again, and our new coach is going to fit in perfectly with whichever direction Linda whispers next into Jeanie’s ear, it’s all going to come up roses!
Man, it’s refreshing sometimes to not live in reality!

When your main argument is the role name of Magic, I rest my case.

Fired vs quit? Agreed she shouldn’t have forgotten that though. Good, all of you telling Jeanie to sell the team should give it a rest since it doesn’t mean squat one way or another.

I didn't said she should sell the team, nor a lot of people in this thread. I think you're not reading it right

@Alcindor it's a very poor argument saying we can't give an opinion on how she manages the franchise because we've never managed one. That is a very bad take for so many reasons:
    - we might as well close the forum then
    - topics would only be discussed by a restrictive amount of people within the topic cluster
    - progress and society evolution would take a big hit if you only rely on people with such bias
    - you don't know what me or anyone else does for living, we may have experience/knowledge in leadership, management, PR, marketing, human capital development...
    - focusing on the messenger and not the message, says a lot about you
    - ...

When you don't even know what position someone held in the organization you are basing your point on, I rest mine.

It's a technicality, he was running the franchise and calling the shots. That's far from the point I was making and that you've decided to ignore.
I edited my previous post with a mention to you, btw

We also won 2 rings under Jim and Mitch with the 09 and 10 titles.

True they got screwed with the CP3 Non trade but they made several poor moves as well.

Ring doesn't mean they're off the hook.

AD was having a pedestrian season till his injury in December. He had some numbers but it wasn't translating to wins.

This was Jeanie's or the FO's or Frank's fault?

That discussion with Alcindor was regarding Jeanie's statement on payroll. She had 3 guys taking up massive amount of capspace and it blocked the team from improving. I don't think AD played at an all star level in those 2 healthy months before he went down and that's on him. The return wasn't there on the investment made.

not so sure about that. he was at 23/10 with good defense (not his best, but still better than almost everyone else). his advanced metrics were ahead of guys who made the allstar team, sometimes quite a bit (e.g., wiggins).

So you're comparing him with Wiggins? That's his bar now?

AD’s and LeGM’s effort were both piss poor most nights at the beginning of the season compared to what we’ve seen before from them. That’s not even debatable

the claim was he wasn't playing allstar caliber ball. wiggins was an allstar. AD was playing MUCH better.

Still can’t just embrace the show and lean into it. People only care when you’re bothered, if you aren’t, nobody would say a word

I say she should sell....if you cant step up yr spending gm you gona get left behind, lakers name is no longer an advantage in this mordern world...fact she still ask magic n kurt for directions shows truly her lack of understanding todays league...but i already knew she'd would allow magic to walk all over and still kiss his butt when she gifted him a ring....I saw her statement bout kurt being around the league for so many yrs but fails to acknowledge his less than stellar coaching history

Kurt brings more to the table than just his massive coaching experience next to all time greats like Phil Jackson. Even if one can't execute at the highest level themselves, learning at the feet of the masters cannot be underestimated.

I get your optimism about Kurt, but him demanding that Frank play DJ more, when all of the analytics plus the eye test were saying don’t, is something I can’t give him a pass on. If there are instances of concrete actions he has taken in his role that have bettered the product in the floor, I would love to hear them.

Also, I would like to know who in the FO pushed for the request that THEY, not the incumbent coach pick the coaches supporting staff. This is just so out of touch with how things go down at every other Franchise around the League.
