I really don’t understand what Mark Jackson has done to be considered a terrible coach.
    Honestly.
I just never followed the Dubbs closely enough when he was there.

I'm sure there's a lot of peeps here who value others opinion much more than what an armchair GM says in myself .

There's a lot of people on Twitter with much better knowledge and a grasp of things better than me.

Just wanted to pass along the info.

Hey you’re the guy who wanted to be his “Dad” on here changing names again and pulled a Westbrick mental error and wound up his idiot father’s Dad instead.

If I recall correctly, there were a lot of behind the scenes issues with him. I think a job like the Kings for him to attempt to rehab his image is fine. I don’t think he’s right for us.

He coached good defense, certainly wasn't horrible as far as coaching strategies go. There were many other issues with him, which is why no one really wanted to hire him for so long.

yeah, i was surprised when gs fired jackson because he was viewed as overachieving there. then kerr took a very similar team to a much better record, and all the behind-the-scenes stuff came out, and i was like..."oh, yeah, i get it".

Really nothing, I mean, the dubs were a young developing team and when Kerr took over they'd all reached their mid-20's and Draymond in particular developed a lot that year. They went from 51 wins to 67 Kerrs first season but you may ask why would you replace a guy @ 51 wins on a team that was pitiful a few years before. Maybe Jackson would have taken them well into the 60's in wins too. The perception and his belief were that it was due to his religious beliefs (he's an ordained minister). As I recall he didn't get along with the FO and he's believed to this day that this situation with the dubs has cost him other chances at coaching. You could see the progress in his 3 years there though, 23, 47 & 51 the first year being a real young team and Curry sitting out most of the season due to injury.

This is linked to a story I read tonight just going over something's about Ham.

I might do this with every assistant we interview or coach that isn't a retread; either way, read the article, it's solid.

I'll also include the link here:

    sure, but again, this:

there's more than that, too. also, i do think character matters, and jackson did some...unministerly...things while leaning on the good book in his professional life. i'd be wary of hiring him, too. especially when there are just so many other qualified people. why go with someone who had his assistant coaches recording him to share with upper management? what would prompt that? why would i want to find out?

i think it if it was just one thing, you can chalk that up to pettiness and give benefits of the doubt. but there's a lot of smoke around jackson's time there.

    yes. defense plz.

I actually think we should hire Jackson and then put him on collision course with the Rambii. May be they mutually disintegrate?

interesting that he thinks the lakers wouldn't bring in a first year guy. i think they will and should. again, lebron's the coach. what established, veteran coach wants to walk into that? you need someone hungry for a shot. ham's definitely that guy, i think. as stein said, he's been sort of passed over.
