i think there's a lot of real estate between moving the ball and tanking. hell, we didn't move the ball when we were tanking!

 

great question from the reporter, trying to get lebron to comment on russ. and it wasn't a "gotcha"--lebron opened the door with the suggestion they simply needed more time together (they didn't and don't--it wasn't working).

even better sidestep from lebron on the answer--just completely didn't comment on the substance of the question. they didn't ask if lebron thought he should be traded, they asked if he thought they'd be good enough next year if they just brought the same principals back (imo).

I hope not. I don't want this guy around the Lakers longer than his current contract. 3 out of the 4 years we have underperformed and have largely been a non-title contender. No thanks.

 

They will sign him. The combination of Lakers + Lebron is too much to pass up. The relevancy this team gets despite being so poor is astounding. Every sports show has a segment on Lebron every single day. As he winds down his career and exceeds so many historical records, the Lakers brass will definitely want it done in a Lakers jersey.

 

The Lakers got moved off national tv multiple times. Fans are just tired of Lebron and this team. The honeymoon period is over as Klutch/Lebron haver certainly wore out their welcome. Many Laker fans I know have been tuned out and even cancelled their league pass and cable subscriptions. Many friends went to games and the Crypto is maybe at 70% capacity for most games.

This team is unwatchable and the shine has dulled quite a bit. The Laker Brand is not sexy anymore

 

This goes for anything in life, not just sports or LeBron or whomever.

A good excuse is still an excuse. A real leader doesn't make excuses. These slaps have been crying about injuries yet never talk about how guys like Russell Westbrook from the jump treated the leadership on this team like s*** and it infected everyone.

I could go on but I don't have the energy to talk about this anymore.

 

They are still top 10 in attendance and the most talked about team in the media the past the past few years regardless of performance. Most likely the mindset is the die-hard fans will continue to tune-in regardless so the focus is on keeping the attention of the casuals.

 

Meh losing sucks...winning games will get it all back asap.

It's because Bron is playing with house money. He brought us a ship. Legacy wise, he's done enough here. Now it's on to personal goals.

Rob is in a different boat on a different ocean with very different expectations.

 

If Lebron is going to be in cruise mode like this year and ease into retirement then he can go somewhere else, he is not beloved here. He doesn't know what he wants and he won't get out of the way of coaches/front office decision makers either.
