the irony is that we did, just last year. AD missed the same amount of time and lebron missed even more! but like this year's clippers, we didn't have to turn to a bunch of minimums to try to win games. that's what the russ trade did. yeah, it's going to be more of the same. if AD can stay on the floor for his previous typical 65-70 games, we're a playoff team, but lebron is going to keep slowing down, imo, so we really only have 1.75 superstars or so. pair that with no depth or means to achieve it, and it's tough sledding.
Lakers have had losing Seasons 7 out of the last 9 years... & we have no 1st Round draft picks until 2025. We better be making some serious trades or we'll be bottom feeders for the foreseeable future.
Losing Caruso for nothing remains utterly horse****. The Bulls literally put him on freaking Gianni's to close out the game. A dude who is going to be easily a top 20 or higher player of all time.
they had him running point in crunch time on some possessions, too. he's just another role player, though. you just go to the role player store and get more. like kent bazemore.
Losing Caruso and Zubac (you know, a 10/9 young 7-footer who plays D and is pretty much always available) like that really hurts. This is me right now:
Role player store I think it’s next to the washed up vet store. We need to make sure we lose the directions the old folks store next year.
Let me WMC real quick: 2017. NBA Draft. We picked Lonzo Ball. On the other hand, we could have enjoyed having Jayson Tatum on our team right now. 27/8/4. 6'8", plays D. Looks better than Kevin Durant right now. 24 years old. Played 76 games this season.
I admit I was one. I thought Zo was going to be like his brother. Only he turned out more like his other brother.
Mitchell, Bam, Collins, and Jarrett Allen all went in the 1st. All would've been better. But yeah, missing Tatum there hurts. We'll get him eventually though.
I questioned the Lonzo pick but eventually came around. I just never really saw it with him. Still don’t if I’m being honest.
same. i wanted to trade that pick because i didn't like lonzo and thought several guys below him would be better. in fairness, word was we did try to trade with sac for their 5th and 10th picks, which is what i wanted. they said no. that said, i thought tatum looked like rudy gay coming out: good player, possible allstar, not a superstar. that was incorrect.
Would be interested in seeing our board for such a scenario. We probably take Fox, but there is a universe where we draft Donovan and Bam.
