Not only did they sucker me into thinking maybe they could beat the Rockets, but I was already getting ahead of myself thinking we might finally be in store for a winning streak with Washington up next
I honestly truly hate this team. Their little small ball act is laughable and just plain hard to watch.
because players want to ball out against the biggest franchise in the league. that's how you get the spotlight and name recognition although this season it's more because the team isn't capable of defending
worthy is exactly right. they didn't realize the level of work it was going to take to get things together as far back as the preseason. the performance there should have been a wake up call, but collectively, from the top down, everyone wrote it off. then when the injuries started to hit, things just unraveled, and AD's last one ended the season. anyway, if lebron's not going to play defense, maybe he needs to rest his knee for the remainder of the season. let russ go earn his 45 million and put up all the shots like he so desperately wants. maybe he'll stat stuff enough to become slightly tradeable while we lose every remaining game.
What has to happen for Vogel to understand that poor Melo is not a center? Not to mention Carmelo is going to be 38 in a couple of months. Why are we doing this?
These Lakers are trolling us. That was the plan pre-season. Lose lose lose, create drama and friction within, only to get in as an 8th, & go 16-0 in the playoffs. Most memorable season in NBA history. Oh yes.
effort is an issue for sure but effort only goes so far when you're a poorly constructed team the roster sucks, that's the bottom line. lebron has been great when he wants to, russ was supposed to be the man when lebron sat or missed games but he's been awful and AD has been injured. so that leaves melo, monk, THT, and rookie austin reaves. that's not a good team in any way. especially when you consider all the dead weight on the bench. ellington, bazemore, DAJ, ariza, nunn. that's a lot of guys who are getting paid to watch games blame russ for being sh** and other guys for not giving effort, but the vast majority of the blame goes to lebron and the FO for blowing up a title contender
i mean, yes, but i'd argue that had the stars (particularly russ and lebron) played defense, we'd have won several more games. those guys just freaking stand around. it's embarrassing. and it's a cue to the rest of the team. you can't tell me it doesn't matter. i'm as mad about the roster construction as anyone, but this team should have been better, even with the injuries. just heartless performances from russ (all season), lebron (most of the season), and AD (early part of the season).
