It's possible Utah was well aware that they were out of the playoff picture at least by 1/2 time.

Utah & Houston were both 40-41 that final day of the season, fighting for the 8th spot. The Lakers were 16-65, only surpassed by Philly for suckiness

Houston and the Jazz were equal in their win/loss against each other, 2 to 2 and their division records however, Houston had the better conference record so Utah needed them to lose their game that day vs Sacramento (they didn't, they blew Sac out).

The Houston - Sacramento game was in Houston and The Lakers vs Utah was in LA so likely the Houston vs Sac game played an hour or 2 earlier than the Lakers so Utah may have known they were out of the picture.

Bad loss still and no doubt the team was feeding Kobe, who cares, it was a great send-off. He was 6-21 from 3 but a very efficient 16-29 from 2. Yes 50 attempts on 60pts is just "ok" overall (Lebron needed 31 attempts to get 56) but who the hell gets 60 on their last game? No one, ever.

I think only people that haven't watched the game can come up with those comments. Not that it didn't happen, but if you followed it you don't give a crap. It was a crazy game, full of emotions and that crunch time had everyone standing up, it was a weird parallel universe you lived where Kobe was the sun. One of my best life experiences, remember that day like it was yesterday. A proper goodbye from someone very special to the game. Glad I watched it

My daughter and I were jumping up and down off the edge of the bed each time Kobe made a shot from around point thirty, all the way up until he hit 60.
    What a game.
    What a career.
    What a player.
    Thank you Kobe Bean!!!!!

Assist rate lowest in a very long time, FGA rate highest in many years and touches are through the roof too. Why even bring in Westbrook? Should've kept last year's squad together. This dude doesn't know what he wants.

it's a really good point and one several of us have been perplexed by for years. always with the "get me a floor general" but every single team he's ever been on has involved him directing the action on offense. i don't get it. if you have lebron, you don't need a real pg, just someone who can handle well enough to get sets started on occasion. that's part of the advantage of having lebron!

The entire time we’ve had Lebron its always about finding him another playmaker. I don’t agree with it since its best to have the ball in his hands. I like the idea of someone like Rondo for when Lebron goes to the bench but then Vogel ends up playing them together… our best success came from running Bradley then KCP at the point, Nunn would have been successful I think

I agree. Out of all of the guys we signed, I was excited to see Nunn the most. Hopefully he can get healthy this summer and be what we need next season.

I heard from the neighbor's gardener who knows the Lakers insider that they're quietly looking into hospice arrangements.

We're going to need all the help we can get against the mighty Rockets. Not joking. They've embarrassed us this season.

This season his decision making in the clutch has been worse than the usual low bar there is for him.

Even if he was behind the basket, Russ was in front of the rim and ready for the pass or clean up duty.
