I don't know if it is worth it though. We're fans because we like to watch them play. Even when they're bad, we like to watch them play. That's the joy that we get from them. To me, having 17 instead of 16 doesn't matter if I can't stand watching them anymore. If they have turned into the Zombie Lakers.
I know others have pointed this out but My god: how awful not moving THT for Lowry has turned out. With Lowry the Lakers don't trade for Westbrook and are probably going into the season working on the margins to see what they have. Kept AC as no THT in the rotation. They still probably grab Monk as an off the bench guy to replace Shroeder. Why get DAJ if you already had Trez. Lebron/AD/Lowry/AC/Monk/Kuzma/KCP/Montrezz/Howard/Reaves. I'm going to go cry now
A ring is always worth it. Lebron deciding to come here (no matter what his motivations were), when other big name free agents wouldn’t give us the time of day, replenished the allure of the Laker franchise. Without that, we’re in a much darker place for a much longer time period. Our young core was not going to develop into anything substantial on our watch.
I sure hope Jeanie has learned two valuable lessons: Don’t let Star players ever play GM, no matter how persuasive they are. Also, when you have just won a Championship, don’t allow anyone to blow it up two summers after. Small improvements are fine but completely undervaluing the roll players that helped you get there leads you to where we are today.
But last season we were decimated by injury, It wasn't the fault of keeping KCP, Caruso, Kuzma, and Montrell as to why we didn't win it all. Can't do anything about it if Lebron and AD don't play.
Role players look bad when they are forced to do things they can’t- like carry the load the stars were meant to.

Pretty much repeating my point or elaborating it. That roster was built to rely upon LBJ and AD and the players to fit roles besides them, not on their own.
People keep bringing him up #17 but they don't consider un-Laker like they have been since Lebron got here. They cater to one guy's legacy only while he puts butts in seats and franchise makes money. Kudos to him for stepping up and signing on with us in 2018. But he deserves a lot heat, criticism and questions as well. Both things can be true. Lebron is not above criticism just like the rest of the players, coaches and FO.
I have conversations with many hard core Laker fans who were at first disappointed but now are just apathetic. They were slowly losing interest since the time Lebron got here and the garbage product on top of the underwhelming results have been a major turn off. Let's keep it real that Bubble run was a fluke. It was one helluva opportunity for the ultimate opportunist, Lebron James
I look at it as less of a fluke since we were the best team in the regular season too. What I do think is the bubble is the only way we win the ring since I don't believe we make it through healthy without the long break for us to get right. AD barely made it through the bubble as it was.
AD and LeBron having four months off definitely played a factor, but every other team who played in the Bubble did too. That being said, it’s hard to argue the contrary that our guys may not have even been healthy enough to make the Finals if there was no stoppage in play. The facts remain: We won against fair competition, everyone was trying hard, and it was mentally tougher to play in that atmosphere.
I fall In This camp that has lost interest in my favorite team, and it’s sad. but I do give the team credit for winning in the bubble
Losing interest TWO seasons in a row really, really blows. The last time this happened, it was due to our rosters being so bereft of talent. The worst part about it this time is that it has come in successive years, directly after a Championship.
Championships are a crap shoot of luck health wise any year amongst the top teams. Serious f****** luck. S*** happens type serious injuries much more so than injury proneness IMO.
the bubble title wasn't a fluke at all (not to mention it was the most evenly played postseason in NBA history) we've seen what bron and AD are capable of at full health. combine that, with the best defense in the league and timely shooting and you have a championship team they were a title contender again last season but injuries happened this year all the defense is gone+russ sucking+injuries and you have the 21-22 lakers
