I agree, but how? Like has been covered multiple times, this team is completely stuck the way it is. Lebron wanted Russ, Rob (probably not wanting to) gave him Russ, and that handcuffed the franchise for two years. This team is so ugly and so unlikable, I am honestly at the point where I wish Lebron never came. Yes, we don't get a ring, but who cares about a ring if it makes something you loved to watch (for 40 years regardless of what their record was) unwatchable? So we can say we have 17 instead of 16. Is that worth essentially being unable to enjoy the team for two years, and if the answer is yes, then are you really a fan of watching the team, or are you a fan of bragging about a number?
Like every role player who played today is a vet min player with the exception of THT (who plays like a minimum). Just awful roster building.
Called this in the pre-season. 0-6. Thats where the poor habits began for this group. But the coach kept making excuses and covering for them too and didn't keep them accountable I think AD/Lebron's nonsense type play goes even further back to the 2020/2021 season. They're not as disciplined and they're entitled
sort of on this train, i enjoyed watching bi, randle growth, maybe Zo too if he had worked on his game like he did with Pelicans
Same. Lebron's tenure as a Laker has been a colossal failure but furthermore this franchise has lost its soul and allure. They were too hell bent on pleasing Lebron. The roster and decision making was Lebron-centric and it has cost them dearly.
They must be zoning out during film sessions because the mistakes they've been making have been the same all year.
There’s no easy solution. Nobody in our FO has the balls to trade LeGM, so we are probably stuck. I just felt like chanting. I can honestly say since LeBron arrived, the only chunk of basketball I have enjoyed was the Bubble run, so I completely get your point. I think if he didn’t meddle(completely dismantle a Championship team, along with Rob) and just stuck to basketball, we would be competing for a title this and next year. This has by far been the least enjoyable season of my 36 years of watching the Lakers.
Bubble ring. Considering the last 1.5 years and more mounting evidence, that title was a fluke. I didnt see our guys replicate their play that they did in the Bubble, have you? We're on pace now to not get out of the first round 3 out of the 4 years Lebron has been here. The one year they had success they had a ton of time off and won in questionable circumstances. Not a lot of respect for what they did in 2020 TBH
Second end of a back to back and you could see fatigue get to lebron. Pretty classic trap game as these teams who trade everyone seem to have a dead cat bounce before other teams scout and game plan better. That being said sloppy with the ball and just not enough talent on Reaves and Johnson look good out there but too many guys like Bradley, Ariza, Ellington who just aren't that good. That Russ trade is going to go down as one of the worst in Laker history: the loss of KCP/Kuzma/AC (direct result of the trade) killed the depth of this team Vogel ain't helping trusting Ariza and Bradley so much and not going with Dwight against Nurkic. AD just doesn't look the same when banging these bigger guys. IF Dwight was available go for it. Just blowing up a title team for no good reason and the basketball gods are paying the Lebron and the Lakers back
It's not a fluke: last year basically the same team was going for the best record in the league before Lebron went down. I'd say the bubble was actually one of the most legit around - no fluke injuries and no homecourt.
Yeah 2019-20 we had a real team. We started 24-3 and were 1st in the west pretty much all year and had just convincingly beat the Buck and Clippers (Our 2 biggest threats) right before the lockdown. The problem is we blew that team up completely, and are now left with vet min players.
