Morey revolutionised the offensive side of modern basketball (for better or worse is debatable). The Houston rockets also had the second most amount of wins behind the Spurs from 2007-2020 (his tenure).

Say what you want about him and his teams, but the Rockets gave the KD version of the Warriors everything they could handle with an inferior team. If KD wasn’t at Golden State, they win a ring or two.

 

i don't have a lot of respect for morey; think he's better at framing narratives than at effecting positive change.

if your analytics said westbrook was better than paul in any direction, your analytics were wrong. the truth is that you sold your soul to harden and the fiefdom he created there didn't vibe with other stars, chris paul among them. so you were forced into a suboptimal trade by your own prior bad management.

as far as morey revolutionizing the game, the idea to avoid midrange jumpers wasn't his own (dantoni and others were already at this prior to morey entering the scene)--he just took things to cartoonish extremes. his other big idea was...wait for it...star-chasing! yes, why hadn't anyone thought of this before? oh wait, everyone had, always. morey just did a lot of interviews in which he discussed it as if it were a new phenomenon and he traded access for positive press (brilliantly, i might add--he's been teflon for his bad decisions).

sorry, i saw morey being praised and that's like my bat signal.

Umm what a great trade for the Clips: Roco and Powell on the lakers and this team would have instantly been transformed into a title contender again. Arrgh

That saves us from trading THT for Covington but wow what a trade for the Clippers. Basically a bunch of trash for two very useful wing players.

 

how the eff do the Clippers continue to get these amazing deals? What do they have on the Blazers GM that they were able to perform such a highway robbery like this?

Powell AND Covington for basically Bledsoe and their first round pick from the draft last year (keon johnson who has not really played)...I mean for a team that is trying to win now and will get Kawhi/PG back at some point next year (or this year?)...they are outdoing the Lakers in every sense of the word.

 

Sorry but THT >>> Bledsoe in terms of play and trade value. If anything, CLippers just set the market for what we could and should get for a THT/Nunn package.
