hawks do that to just about everyone. maybe not to the tune of 38-20 quarter, but the young/collins and young/capela pick and roll are quite effective. anyway, it's the wmc thread, but i can't muster the energy. i was upset 15 games ago and realized it was over then. the main goal now is no stupid trades and don't get AD injured please.
Clippers are 9-11 since PG went down. lol 9-11 without PG and Kawhi. Last year, the Lakers went 8-9 without Lebron and AD. No one will ever be able to make sense of this last offseason.
it's almost like...the clippers didn't change their team identity and their players are familiar with each other? oh, and i will be checking out of this place when we lose to them twice in the coming weeks. just fair warning.
That and I think it's safe to say that their floor spacers are also more impactful on the defensive end.
Obvious- since they didn’t cut themselves off at the knees by trading away nearly half of their rotational players for one.
i often wonder what would have happened had we not chased kawhi that summer and instead tried to build a roster on our own terms. obviously we won a title, so maybe who cares at all, but...we might have won a title and been better set up for the future. or we might have fumbled those assets just like we did the others.
do we? i think ours is headed to SA. https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed anyway, we've had success both buying in and working under the table to get UDFAs, so i'm not super worried about it. i'm worried that we might move a 2027 1st for no good reason, though.
It's interesting. We all laughed and were happy we dodged the Dennis Schroder bullet when he didn't accept our deal. Kind of wish he had now.
eh, just as bad or worse maybe, depending on what other moves happen. dennis is a MLE or less level player now, i think. and we would have been on the hook for three more years at 20+.
Well, we weren’t expecting an even worse deal was just around the bend! I honestly don’t know which one was dumber: Mozgov/Deng signings or the Westbrook trade.
But if he was making 20, we might still have Kuz, KCP and Caruso, or at least a couple of them. That's sort of the point I'm making. Dennis is about as effective as Westbrook (on this team), and we'd still have our depth...in theory.
I sorta agree in the sense that our we would have more tradable assets via our depth, but I'm not entirely sure I would want to be on the hook for 80 mil/4 yrs vs 90 mil /2 yrs, since with WB, our cap flexibility comes sooner. Idk, might be a wash in the end.
