Not trading Reaves!!! Not Monk either. THT and Nunn has to be for someone who fits, is still young and doesn’t have a crazy contract.

You have to have good players on cost controlled contracts in order to build a Championship Roster. We don’t have the luxury of super deep pocket owners. Balance is key.

I can’t believe ST how cavalier you continue to be about including him as fodder in trades for guys some of which he will be better than in a couple more years. He’s the real deal. Play make, pass incredibly well, defend and will only get better …. he gets better game by game almost and quicker laterally, SMART “winning” player like Caruso, great handles already and good - really good shooter from anywhere already including from deep and midrange and at the rim. Plus he’s almost 6’6” but looks and plays 6’7”+. Wait until he puts 20 lbs of muscle on him and hits 25 years old and improves the skills in all the areas above. You don’t even spell his name right. “Reaves”.

I hear you LT. Reeves is the last of the bunch that I would want to part with. The thing is, you have to ask yourself if you are an opposing team: "Who on the Lakers roster would I want?" THT and Nunn don't really strike me as something that most teams would want. If we could significantly improve our team by acquiring a good player, who is relatively young, I am prepared to deal anybody on the roster. That's all I'm saying. Trades need to be fair (usually).

Literally every single trade you propose includes Reaves. Just stop.

And of course after I say all that ST he goes out and looks like a nothing special rook tonight. :speechless: But that was so far truly a rarity …. he’s allowed those as a rookie. Just think he has the tools to indeed be a really nice player and he’s cost controlled for a couple years.

I can't wait to read all the hit pieces tomorrow coming from Klutch, Vogel, Jeanie, etc. What a dysfunctional organization

Small move, but I would be happy with something like this.

    I wouldn't do anything drastic.

I’m just not trusting the FO right now so I’ve also cooled off on the idea of a trade. I’m still in favor of THT Nunn and Baze for Turner or Grant but that’s about it. And only because Nunn looks like he’s just out for the season and I’m not that high on THT.

The paragraph below is my real problem with this team. Guys just aren’t playing hard. It’s ridiculous.

"That a 10-day guy [Stanley Johnson] and an undrafted rookie [Austin Reaves] are the reason [the Lakers] are winning at all is an indictment," a Western Conference executive said. "The Lakers don't need more Stanley or Austin. The rest of the roster needs to play as hard as Stanley and Austin."

beat me to it. exactly the section that stuck with me. glad i'm not the only one and that others in the industry can see it.

interesting that we've kicked the tires on barnes. tht/nunn/jordan or baze works and opens up a couple roster spots. they'd ask for and get a first rounder.

not sure i love giving up THT for a 29 year old who's never had great success, but barnes is definitely the exact kind of player we could use.

too bad we screwed sac over and thus will probably have to pay in flesh to get anything done with them.

Stein is doing a chat on Spotify Green Room. Said Grant is the top target for both Lakers and Jazz. But neither really have a great package for him.

He expects us to make a move. Staying put isn't our M.O., but isn't sure who that's for.
