Lebron James said this after the game. "Obviously, we got a gem in Austin. I watched a lot of film on him when we were able to acquire him. I know what type of players I like to play with and I knew right away that he would make an immediate impact on our ball club probably before himself and our coaches and a lot of other teammates." https://www.yahoo.com/sports/got-gem-lebron-james-praises-164856072.html Nice. Way to take the dude's big night, and make it about yourself and your "genius basketball intellect" to see his value before ANYONE else. Did you use that same keen eye when you decided Westbrook would be better than KCP, Kuz, AND Caruso? This is why it's so hard to like this team.
Lebron watched a lot of film on him? Hahahaha. When does Lebron have time to watch film of players he doesn't know about?
Such cringe statements. Couldn’t have just said something like; I’m really proud of his development and he has been big time for us.
good. you respect our scouts. can you now try to respect the management team that empowers them and stop playing shadow gm? you're killing your own chances at winning another ring.
Fixed it for you. He'll drive his kid to get drafted by the Grizzlies where he'll pick up another ring with Ja Morant and his boy after he's turned our franchise into an unrepairable dumpster fire.
Kevin Hart did an impression of him from when they played cards this one time. It was the most hilarious 2 min of explaining a person's personality I've ever heard. Essentially it was Kevin Hart mimicking LeBron telling them all about how he came up from nothing, beat the odds, how hard he works, all the s*** LeBron continues to spew in most of his interviews during post game interviews. Hart made it into a comedic set but it happened. LeBron has a massive inferiority complex. He has to always tell everyone how hard he works and how he knows everything. He's a child who never grew up.
I think a large part of why he tells everyone he works so hard is because he is so athletically gifted, he doesn't want people to think that's why he's so good. He can't admit to anyone (and likely himself) that if he were just slightly above average athletically, he would probably be an average to slightly above average NBA player. He wants everyone to know he earned every bit of it. Let's be real, if Kobe had Lebron's physical gifts, he'd have won 8 rings.
Man this is stuff you might not even see first time, the game moves so fast, but it’s such important stuff for team defense
i can't remember: was reaves touted as a good defender in any way when we picked him up? i know he was a good, versatile scorer and was known for being a competitor in college, but i wasn't prepared for him to be an above average nba defender (and that's underselling it) in his rookie year.
I don’t think his coaches specifically did? Competitive was certainly agreed upon to go with the versatile offensive role he grew into once given a chance.
Only question is if we trust the Rambis' judgement more than we do LeBron/ Klutch. Russ was a huge whiff, but I've long suspected the front office was very much involved in that one. Guess we will see in the long run. I'm uneasy about both groups, but at least Klutch has some player connections.
A goddamn steal. And again just think about AC and AR manning the backcourt together. They'd fit well together too. f***.
